In an interview this week with Norm from Tested, Valve hardware engineer Yazan Aldehayyat and product designer Lawrence Yang hinted at the form that headset might take, and a potential key feature.

Or just anything to compete with the Quest 3, and provide a viable alternative to the dumpster fire of a near-monopoly that Meta/Facebook has on consumer VR hardware.

Hopefully the fact that they talk so "freely" about their VR plans means that it’s not too far off.

As soon as there’s a decent standalone VR headset not owned my an invasive social media company, I’ll be on board.
