Any news on ProMotion actually using 120 hz? (alien.top)

I just bought a 14 pro max after coming from a Samsung A52s. I could immediately notice that scrolling is not as smooth as on the samsung, and after digging a bit I now know that apple mostly limits the scrolling to 80 Hz. I love every other aspect of the iphone except for this refresh rate problem, but unfortunately, the refresh rate is the most important part of a phone for me, so I am already looking to return it and probably get an S23 Ultra. However, I would first like to ask if there have been improvements made to ProMotion in the past and if you think Apple would at some point allow us to use a fixed 120 hz refresh rate (turning on screen recorder all the time in order to get the full 120 Hz experience is not ideal).

doubt it. maybe when there are no difference in battery life on newer models.

iPhone users cry about battery life and have battery health anxiety, so if you give them a fixed 120 Hz, they'll have a proper meltdown.
