Agree or disagree? I don’t think he will come back this year from his injury. If his agent had half a brain he would make him sit. I still think teams would give up a mid to late first or a player of value for him. I think we should Forsure go maye over Caleb who is essentially the same player with a bigger mouth and ego.. Bagent is not an nfl caliber player but it is bringing in a lot of publicity. I think this whole bagent story is to create a narrative that the bears do not ruin QB’s

Hey man put the Malort down and step away from the glizzies

[–] MrTulaJitt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If you look at their post history, it's actually something much stronger than that.

[–] rugbysecondrow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Disagree. Right now, an UDFA has a better record than him this year. He needs to change that narrative. Fields has no choice but to prove his can play, that he can win, and that he can overcome adversity. He is not good enough to wait-and-see...he has to prove it.

I disagree about Bagent as well. He is playing like a rookie, some good and some bad, but the Bears can continue to develop him as a great backup and maybe a starter a couple years down the road. They can have a QB that is a strength instead of a weakness with talent they developed...how great would that be?

I'm not sold that the Bears will draft a QB with their top pick. It is a stacked class and there are some great options in later in the first round of the draft too. They could trade out and stack the team with talent or they could take a MHJ with the high pick and a McCarthy or another QB with the lower pick. Trading Fields for a high pick might net a WR, QB, and OL or DL talent from this years #1 round alone.

Lots of great options

QB Wins are not a stat. How many times do we have to say that?

[–] rugbysecondrow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That is a dumb thing to say, it's what losers say. Of course they are A state, just not THE stat.

No matter, if Bagent, and UDFA, can go .500 and perform with these WR, OL and offense, then so should Field, in fact he should do better.

I like Fields and want him to step up. I would hate having to using a draft pick on another QB after spending three years wanting him to succeed. That said, it's on him to step up, lead the offense, protect the ball, and become a leader who can win.

[–] mindham86@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Why would he sit. He's still under contract for next year regardless if the pick up his 5th year option

[–] Thekid312@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Woke up to post some bullshit smh

[–] Apotheosis69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s coming back extremely soon. Players that aren’t in a position of power don’t sit out. He’s absolutely not worth a mid to late first. And I’ve never been on the Bagent bandwagon but he fully belongs as a backup in the nfl at this point. Do you need to be a superstar to be nfl caliber? You’re wrong on straight up every point.

[–] devadander23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m glad you’re not his agent. This is terrible advice.

[–] AdStreet2074@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

First round pick for fields? Hahahahaha

[–] happyfave@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

To Be Fair, it's possible to get a late #1 for him. Not likely, but possible. Better at least get a 2nd tho

[–] Maharajah_1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sure. It's possible, like there's a non-zero chance we could get a 1st. Like when they detonated the first atom bomb. They theorized that there was a non-zero chance, a possibility that was extremely unlikely but not zero, that they would burn off Earth's entire atmosphere. I put our chances of getting a first rounder for Fields about the same.

[–] AdPerfect69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

We’re just a few years away from Sam Darnold going for a 2nd, 4th, and 6th.

If he shows well—even in just a few of the seven games left—a first rounder is possible. More likely a 2nd, but he will be valued higher than Darnold was.

It only takes one team to see his highlights and blame the Bears for his lowlights. And they might be right.

[–] AdStreet2074@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Darnold was better than Fields when he got traded…

[–] Maharajah_1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hope you're right, but I don't think so.

[–] In-the-bunker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Maybe a 3rd round, probably a 4th.

[–] AdPerfect69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You’re severely underestimating the QB market.

Sam Darnold went for a 2nd, 4th, and 6th and never showed the upside Fields has shown.

There’s a lot of, “I can fix him” ego in the NFL coaching ranks. It only takes one, and there will be at least one out there who sees his athletic talent and thinks they can do better than Getsy.

And like…they probably can.

[–] happyfave@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields will start the next game.

[–] The_Wata_Boy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hate these posts made by our bipolar fanbase.

Field's agent would demand he plays because he's playing for a contract. If the Bears decline his option he needs a new team and you'd rather get a starting QB role and salary opposed to a backup 1-2 year deal.

Bagent is a rookie QB, what do you expect? Honestly, he looked better then most other rookie QB's from the past few drafts. Fields is obviously going to start next Sunday unless he suffers a massive drawback. He's been throwing and fully participating in practice.

[–] reverieontheonyx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I thought they traded him lol

[–] TigerCharades3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Omg shut up

[–] bigpalmdaddy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cocaine is a hellava drug

[–] Sonnywinchester@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He will 100% start Sunday against the lions.

[–] SurelyRight@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You’re 100% wrong. Which will be proven very soon

Fields sitting out would be stupid for his career. The best thing he can do for himself is to come back and ball out

[–] Aromatic_Recording_4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

His agent needs his player to ball out the rest of this year so he lands a massive contract and they both get paid. Sitting out while healthy is the shit that teams don’t reward

[–] mushperv@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So to create a narrative that the Bears don’t ruin QBs their plan was to start a Div-2 guy?

Field’s wants to play. Football players—for the most part—want to play. Say what you want about Fields but he’s a tough dude. He wants to compete. If the doctors clear him he’s playing.
