Boomer humor but its funny

Not anymore for me. I notice patterns in things much earlier than others, so it's like if I seen the same joke for the 1000th time even though it's like just the 100th with this one.

@Clbull

RELAX people ... he meant FAT as in the filesystem.

[–] Wild_Mastic@lemmy.world 36 points 2 years ago

now it's an exFat, look at how slim it is!

[–] BustinJiber@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Wouldn't the 8 GB USB stick be probably FAT32?

[–] umbraroze@kbin.social 36 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You can still format a 1 TB card FAT32 though.

Once you go 2TB and above you have a problem though

That's when you need Ex(tra)FAT.

Two partitions

I don't really get it. An SD card has basically nothing in common with a floppy disk, while USB sticks are basically the same thing as a SD card, it just uses a different interface.

Is it talking about the color or the shape or something?

[–] Toribor@corndog.social 14 points 2 years ago (2 children)

At first I thought this was going to be a joke about the FAT file system and then I realized it's a joke about shapes that doesn't really make any sense.

You guys are thinking too hard about a silly comic

I still haven't seen any joke about FAT or ExFAT (extra fat), but I really want to.

[–] GreenMario@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yo mamas so exFAT, the last time she crashed she formed the Grand Canyon.

Yo mamas filesystem is so FAT I couldn't install Call of Duty on it.

[–] PeWu@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 years ago

Yo mama so FAT I needed to RAID her

[–] filcuk@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sir or madam, exfat is definitely 'no longer fat', and I will die on this hill.

[–] filcuk@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 years ago

Firstly, it's a newer format, better, gooder - one could even say sleeker?
Two, it allows (by way of support) larger capacity on the same media, which would be an equivalent to lower volume and higher strength, akin to the body of a weightlifter.

The only correlation I can gather is that the SD card and floppy disk you push in whole into the pc
