I used to use an Otter Box Defender case until they stopped the built in screen protector which I prefer. Then switched to the Unicorn beetle pro. I found another brand FNTcase very similar to the Unicorn Beetle case in more color choices. A little slimmer. I bought the Purple case which was hard to find in this type of case. I love it. A personal choice, but for my dropsy hands I prefer it.

My gripe with the plastic screen protectors is they’d trap in grit and would actually scratch up the screen over time.

A popular “hack” was to tear out the plastic screen protector and put on a tempered glass one anyway.

[–] A_Lady_and_3_Labs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve been really lucky that my screen doesn’t get scratched with the plastic screen protectors. I’ve heard of that hack, but never tried it. When the Otterbox Defender series first stopped making the built in screen protectors I tried it with a tempered glass screen protector. When I switched back to a case with a built in screen, the glass seemed to come off fairly easy. Could have just been in my case. I do think about getting the Otterbox Commuter case some as it is lighter. Maybe sometime.

Sounds like my story exactly. I loved the Unicorn frost case that I got for the 14 pro max but it yellowed fairly quickly.I Blason is another good cheaper option. I used Otter Box Deffender cases for years but switched last year and didn’t go back with the 15 either.

This is why you go naked and get apple care. Every iPhone I've used is naked..train yourself to never drop it. Usually put screen protector and lens protector

[–] The_Real_FN_Deal@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I do this but the titanium is way more slippery to hold. I’ve already cracked the back screen from a single drop. The 13 pro I had before was unbreakable. Literally dropped that thing a straight pavement multiple times. This the first time in years where I’m going to have to get a case.

[–] MrEcksDeah@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Interesting, in my experience it’s the opposite. My 15 PM is way easier to hold and grip than my 12 PM

[–] ricosuave79@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There is no back screen?

Naked iPhone with lens protector looks ridiculous.

[–] BalerieKekanova@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15 PM No case No screen protector less go!

[–] SlimeCityKing@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No case gang for life for this reason lol

[–] KendalR19@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I have the iPhone 15 pro in Natural Titanium, I use the Apple Clear MagSafe case that way it doesn’t hide the beauty nor take away too much from the feel of the phone but still protects it. I also have a privacy glass screen protector on the front!

[–] hags2k@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Do you have issues with grip with that case? I returned mine because my hand would hurt from how tightly I had to hold the phone with that case to keep from dropping it…

[–] KendalR19@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nope not at all, and I have pretty big hands! It’s sturdy and comfortable enough for me 🤷🏽‍♂️

[–] youRFate@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Which is why I never uses cases. So far i've been perfectly fine (knock on wood).

[–] balskeith@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I’m in the same boat. Still using X pro max naked since day one and is perfect.

[–] -YellowcakeUranium@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Downvoted for your personal preference lmao

A case is going to be a lot cheaper than AppleCare. Otterbox sells cases that are thin and clear but are still very protective. Plus you don't have to worry about being without a phone for God knows how long when it inevitably breaks from a drop.

[–] normcore_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You have the option for "Express Delivery Replacement" with AppleCare so you don't need to be without your phone.

If it's too inconvenient to go to an Apple Store and wait the ~50 minutes for a repair.

[–] Patrici_uS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

it literally is like that tho

[–] Enderboss25_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s so true though! 😆

[–] Enderboss25_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Oh this is too good! 😆

I’d love to go naked on my new 15PM but sometimes my kids play games and they aren’t the most coordinated.

Nah the year just started…. Right?

[–] Mundane-Treacle375@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2023 When by so quick

[–] Afroaro_acefromspace@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ll stick to cases.

[–] Luci_Noir@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There are so many nice cases out there. I used the apple leather case and love it.

[–] pokaprophet@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ha. Exactly this. I have my case for situational use. If I’m out for a day where I know I’ll be using my phone a lot for taking pics etc I’ll whack on my Mous case. If it’s a regular day at work no case. At home no case UNLESS one of my c̶l̶u̶m̶s̶y̶ f̶u̶c̶k̶w̶i̶t̶ k̶i̶d̶s̶ darlings wants to play a game.

[–] Izygoing_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I use apple products due to their simplicity in connecting them. I use them also due to their Qualität/durability. I use them due to their nice desig. I also use their cases on ipad, iphone…. The titanium is nice, for sure but in my opinion not necessarily needed at least it gives also a weight reduction.

[–] Street-Measurement51@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s you get a see-through coat.

[–] MillennialOne@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I use a 15PM in natural naked. I just use a MagSafe pop socket on the back and a tempered glass screen protector. (Got the pop socket for $5 at TJ Maxx, good deal!) I can remove it for wireless charging etc. in a second and it protects the camera hump.

[–] LS_DJ@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The dad looking like an iPhone 4 is a nice touch

[–] Neuromancer2112@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I've never cared about having my iPhone naked - not even my original one (3G).

I like either carbon fiber or woodgrain cases - this time, I managed to find one that has both 😅

Non-slip, looks good, works for me.

[–] Apprehensive-Gap8352@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would do this with any expensive phone.

[–] ipodtouch616@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

you know what, this comic gets it. PHONES SHOULD BE UGLY. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ASTHETICALLY PLEASEING

[–] ConnectionLivid9956@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

my phone doesn’t listen

[–] Bubba-jones@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

iPhones are so damned slippery.

Took off my case today to clean it. Argh.

[–] Remarkable-Frame205@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I just got a clear T21 case, it’s got good edge coverage and obviously it’s clear so I can still show off the natural titanium

[–] PianoCookies@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I use a clear case with a popsocket

[–] Fun_Reason5988@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is the one I’m using now. I bought a few different styles and decided to go with this 1st. It’s completely enclosed and is really sturdy. I don’t see the need for the giant helicopter landing pad on this the back. I can figure out where to use a MagSafe charger without it.

[–] adullploy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

lol love this, Apple spending millions to enhance design, you spending $20 on $.96 of plastic to ruin it.

[–] il6yr8@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My iPhone could be made of unbreakium and it’ll still have a rubber case with raised edges.

[–] YashBaheti@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Even if it’s from facebook, it’s cute.

[–] UffeDinkelspiel@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No case here, but I do have a apple magsafe wallet on the back, makes it alot less slippery and nicer to hold 👍
