I remember Brian Urlacher throwing a TD.
Chicago Bears
Going to see the Bears vs. the Baltimore Colts. Yup, I'm old.
Not one particular memory. Just Walter being the best football player on the planet, and a lot of losing...
some things don't change.
Hearting about a guy named The Fridge.
Devin Hester return Super Bowl. I thought that was our year we are all the same lol
Playoff game against the Vikings then getting destroyed by the 9ers
I know I watched the whole season but I distinctly remember being upset over the loss in the conference championship to the 49ers in 84. I was 12 years old at the time. The next season changed my life.
85 MNF against the Dolphins. The hype was off the chart.
Donovan McNabb running up and down the field kicking their asses
I was seven years old when the Bears won the Superbowl and my dad treated us to McDonald's bringing home those collectable trading cards. Wish I still had my dad and the cards.
Just the absolute dominance of the 85 defense and Payton/Suhey/offensive line. The O line was huge and they'd chew the clock up, then the fresh defense would come out and maul quarterbacks, receivers, running backs. Tons of interceptions and forced fumbles. The championship seemed almost inevitable (see: Super Bowl Shuffle), nobody wanted to play them.
The Bears are who we thought they were game vs Arizona
I just remember watching Walter Payton highlights
Matt Forte breaking a long TD in his first game
Khalil Mack signing with the Bears
Whenever the Bears would score a TD and I was about 5 and my brother 2 we would run outside with my dad and go to the corner and back as a TD Celebration
Cade McNown. Pain. Just oof. I also remember when Jerry Angelo was hired, and someone put up that firejerryangelo website that I used to frequent lol.
Peanut Tillman taking a ball away from Moss in the endzone to seal a game is the earliest memory
Late 90s kid, family isn’t football fans so the very first bears play I ever saw was the Hester Super Bowl return. What an introduction to the team!
Bears vs browns comeback win. First game I ever went to. Bears were down 14 under a minute left. Scored. Recovered the onside kick and tied it on a last second Hail Mary. OT was the second game in a row Mike brown had a walk off pick 6. Shit was incredible. I’ve been chasing that high ever since.
Mike Browns first walk-off INT
When Jim McMahon got drafted by the bears. I just moved to Provo UT, Jim was the qb. We both went to the only Catholic Church in the whole area. His antics at BYU were stories of legend. Provo is 99% Mormon
My dad being excited the Bears got Kordell Stewart
Watching a game in Kenosha, WI as a kid- Bears v Packers. We were winning by a smidge (forgot the score but it was a low scoring game). Packers attempted a late FG, we blocked it, and I think it was the kicker or the holder scooped it up and scored. We lost that one. The next game we won in a blowout later that season.
Dick Butkus cloths-lining a guy (Chuck Hughes / Detroit) up the middle. The guy had a heart attack and died. I remember as a kid that my dad and everyone were so into the defensive violence at the time. Not much to cheer for on offense so I suppose it was a bit of pent up frustration. After that event though, I never accepted cheap shots or non-clean hits in any sports again. Stopped watching hockey for instance because that sport is just hopeless with it. Play clean or get the hell out.
It was Dec. 18, 1977. It was an icy field and Paul Horning Packers golden boy was calling the game one sidedly for the Giants. The game went into overtime with the playoffs on the line. Bob Thomas hit a field goal for the win. That kick ended a 14 year playoff drought. I can still see that kick clear the crossbar. The second most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.
Walter Payton halfback option for a touchdown. Bears fans always say that we haven't had a good quarterback since sid luckman. Walter Payton proably is the franchise's greatest quarterback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1zRjVCrPH8
