Does anyone know a UK source for affordable (โ‰คยฃ25 inc p+p) 22mm stainless steel watch straps made in a democracy (a country ideally โ‰ฅ 8 on the Economist Democracy Index; definitely โ‰ฅ 6)?

When planning a purchase, I'll ask this sub for product/seller recommendations. Unfortunately, I need a UK-based seller or have to pay import fees due to Brexit red tape.

You might look for Stalux watch bands. Made in Germany and there are some near your budget.

Thanks! Fediverse FTW!

Found a German store that ships them internationally.

Apparently, Stalux is a sub-brand of a German company called Eulit. AFAICT, Stalux specialises in stainless straps, whereas Eulit-branded straps tend to be other materials and made in Germany.

~~I havenโ€™t yet found confirmation that Stalux straps specifically are German-made but please post a link if you have one.~~ The product listings for that store say the Stalux straps are made in Germany. Great!

Hopefully I'll find a UK seller, to avoid the Brexit surcharges.

Cool. It might vary by product. This store lists this particular product as made in Germany, but I don't know the store. https://www.chroonoo.com/p/stalux-stainless-steel-watch-band-multiple-ends-18-20-22-mm-silver/

Edit: duh, I didn't notice you linked to that store already.

AFAIK they are all made in China. For decades now.

I fear so, but I hope at least some are made in a democracy. Taiwan, for example.
