Keep your iPhone at arm’s length.

[–] starbwoy027@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[–] Not_ChatGBT@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Your grandmother came back from 1995 and told you you’re sitting too close to the Tv. Lol

[–] OfficialTornadoAlley@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wait my grandma is dead? She was just over at my house a few days ago 😭

[–] Mediocre-Gap-1488@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is yet another reason why I feel old and out of touch. I just assume everyone’s grandparents are dead too lol.

[–] arkiser13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hold your phone closer to your face. Eventually, you’ll never see this warning again…

[–] imurhuckleberry63@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

T-Rex vision matters.

[–] WD--30@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I really wanna know how close you hold your phone

[–] ceciliawpg@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Aging will naturally have you move your iphone further and further away to see it.

[–] singleandavailable@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Your phone no longer wants intimacy

[–] Born_Cryptographer60@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Does this mean Apple also knows when we’re picking our noses?

[–] Inevitable_Week1275@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yes, and they have a warning when you eat your boogers! ( don’t ask how I know)

I hate this message and I find it very annoying, but I’m not turning it off!

[–] MKInc@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

lol, read comments to see if anyone suggested replacing iOS with Android but that will probably get me banned from this sub now, even though I have more iPhones now than alternatives

[–] MystiskCrow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What degree of hypermetropia does this kid have to hold their iphone this goshdang close

[–] mikedvb@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t think I can see my phone at arm’s length so maybe my eyesight is already damaged.

[–] 1252947840@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Press the button “I’m willing to sacrifice my eyes for more entertainment addiction”

[–] oleyva10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Get some glasses

[–] Sad-Mathematician570@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It will go away with you getting older ;)

[–] hariztek@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I am legally blind and I hold my phone very close to face even though I have glass I can’t read unless it’s very close to my face so this warning would mean I won’t be able to use my phone at all lol thankfully it’s not on by default

[–] LostinStocks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So illegally are you not blind?

[–] -K9V@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Can you not wear glasses or contacts? Or is legally blind too bad for any of those options? Honest question.

[–] WildestPotato@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Googling is hard isn’t it OP

[–] Goodough99guy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’d be one unhappy camper ….don’t even start with me today Siri I swear on everything today’s not the day……

[–] Mysterious-Will-8128@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How do I turn it on? This is great

[–] Mysterious-Will-8128@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Having the option is awesome thanks for sharing this feature with is

[–] Certain-Midnight-383@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It is in screen time and there you can turn it off

[–] DhruvM@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Such a dumb feature

[–] digsmash111@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Settings > Screen Time > Screen Distance

[–] pumpkinsuu@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Isn’t there an education campaign about this myth in 2010 or something, why apple still believe it?

[–] EMP0R10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s never turned on by default! Wtf are you trying to achieve here?

[–] losandreas36@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How do I get this

[–] frowawayakounts@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Can we talk about the fact Apple wants to to hold your phone at arms length, wtf? That would ache after a few mins of doom scrolling 😂

[–] ParkerBeach@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I have this turned on by choice to help me keep my phone a better distance away from my face. BUT I am also near sighted so at night lying in bed I get this warning every 2-3 minutes. VERY ANNOYING. Like can I get a setting where I can set this to a certain time like the day when my glasses are on my face and off at night when I just want to browse reddit in bed. By the way typing this message earned me two more visits from the warning about being too close to my face.

[–] Majestic_Lie_5792@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

By keeping your phone further away from your face.

[–] Danub123@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Is OP holding his phone like this?

[–] DREDHUMBER@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Screen time Distance Turn it off That’s all

[–] -K9V@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Read what it says, it literally tells you.

[–] PetrBacon@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Time to buy longer iArms

[–] thedavidventer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s the thing you enabled and you get rid of it by disabling at the same you enabled it. 🤡

[–] ilikekittensandstuf@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] 1clichename@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fuck I’m blind, even with glasses I can’t see my phone that far away…

[–] rrfeed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dont look at the phone

[–] adrian_shade@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Can you read?

[–] KotBehemot99@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You could take two nails and run them through your eyeballs. This will prevent the message from occurring :D You can just turn it off in the settings. I however suggest not to.

[–] MacElMacho@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You can buy an android and problem solved

Seriously though, who actually holds their phone at arm's length? That's just too far.
