Do you have a lens screen protector

[–] itzeppelinnn@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i have a 14 and the camera is awful. Close pictures are blurry and refuse to adjust, so i cant zoom on my camera. i've tried cleaning mine too but nothing changes so i don't use it much.

[–] kejok@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would suggest you wipe clean your camera before taking photos. Most of my friends saying “my iPhone photos looks so baaaad” while there’s smudges on the camera glass

Astigmatism

[–] MoistChuff@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Or just add a subtle smear of nose grease if you want your photo to look like this.

iAstigmatism

[–] AZREDFERN@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Your lens has finger grease on it. Wiping it with your shirt might be good enough in daylight, but you need alcohol to get it off at night. The lenses and screen start out with an oleophobic coating that wears off in a year or less. Always use a screen protector and lens protector. Because you can replace those when they wear.

[–] SigmaLance@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

A quick visit to the Genius Bar and they’ll have you sorted.

Those lens looks like they have astigmatism.

[–] FoxTrotMik3Lim4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Never knew that that’s why i saw lines from street lights, I assumed everyone did. I knew I had astigmatisms but didn’t know the two were related

[–] tricky4444@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Awesome comment. That's what I see every night lol

I don't own an iPhone, but your best bet would be to clean your lens using a microfiber cloth. Open the camera app, point it towards street light (at least 2 sources of light), and then wipe the camera lens from a single direction. Now you will see the lines change direction, do this multiple times until the lines become faint. Dont randomly rub your camera lens, do it gently from one direction to other. Sometimes, if it is too dirty (or greasy), use a drop of water and then rub it and then use a dry microbifer and gently wipe it.

iphone camera lenses are made of crystal sapphire. they are incredibly scratch resistant and very hard to scratch. u can use your cotton tshirt and wipe it with whatever. little bit of water and a tshirt or non lint like anything will do just fine. the lens is a 9 on the mohs hardness scale.

The recent update did something with the camera quality. My iPhone and my friends iPhone 14 Pro also has this problem.

[–] funnytoenail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Clean your lens and lower your exposure when shooting

If you have one of those camera lens protector things, take it off

[–] Rioma117@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lens flare, it happens if the lens is not perfectly clear but honestly those crosses look nice, there’s filters to get them for professional cameras.

[–] gabrielcachs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Astigmatism be like:

[–] Baz4k@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I see like this normally, is this not normal?

[–] indorock@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm pretty sure imaging sensors don't just degrade over time, much less over just 2 years. Looks to me like you have too much oily crap on your lens. Clean it.

[–] Ir0nic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Clean your fucking camera fgs

[–] Next-Solid1753@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[–] AStopidChimp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It looks like your iPhone may have recently gotten lasik eye surgery. It hopefully will heal on its own in 6ish months!

[–] melancholy_dood@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[–] futurafrlx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I remember reading on DxOMark that iPhone was notorious for having more noticeable lens flare than Samsung.

[–] tubezninja@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s not lens flare.

[–] firestar268@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[–] Exercise_Slow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Camera has astigmatism and needs to be cleaned and if you have these "protectors" take them off because theyre the culprit of the camera astigmatism

[–] Green_EveningLime624@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I like how realistic it makes photos. I get that too in my eyes when I squint them
