Btw the real story about the plastic cookies is they created a bacteria that can break down plastic into basic chemical components.. like sugars.

Wether producing cookies from plastic is economically viable, is a strawman thats not what this is about. Its a very bad article that misrepresents this achievement.

Scaled up we can use this science to learn to understand how to effectively break down plastic in a larger volume.

Imagine a pill that can devolve the many microplastics that are currently inside your body.

Imagine a future where any material could be broken down into its basic components and then reassembled into something else, including food.

That is not dystopia… that is star trek food replicators.

The plastic industry influencing education IS dystopian however.
