Is there usually an iTunes movie sale on Black Friday?
When is it going to get past that splash screen?
Supposedly it’ll be back up at 12:01am. And since it’s 12:30 in Chicago, probably won’t be back up for another 90 Minutes?

Are there any discounts on Black Friday in the Apple Store? I wasn’t aware that something happens. What am I missing.

I believe it’s just gift cards for purchases? So not true discounts, although if you’re gonna spend on Apple anyway it’s not much of a difference. No MacBook Pro deals this year though from what I remember
Gift cards on last year stuff. Stuff that doesn’t sell. Stuff that does sell you won’t see a gift card
And judging by the way tech market progresses in small incremental way, I think 95% people shouldn't give a fuck about latest and greatest.
For the vast majority of people M2 macbook, iPhone 14, M2 mac mini, last gen iPad/watch etc. are still good value. You save money, and on top of that you get a gift card.
It's good if you're gonna buy two things. Buy the more expensive one first get the gift card, buy the second one.

Yep. My GF wants a 2022 iPad, so we'll get an £80 giftcard. Then I'm gonna buy a new phone to upgrade my 8+ eventually 😂
Just checked out the inventory for gift cards. It mostly just last year stuff and some other things. I think people buying M2 Airs or iPad Pro have a good deal here.
Wdym?? Are there only specific things you can buy with an Apple gift card? Does it not apply to everything?
You’re thinking about it backwards there are certain items that will give you a gift card if you buy them primarily older stock items

Don’t know if they do it online but in person usually they can discount the gift card from the price at the time of purchase . However Amazon and Best Buy are both lowering their prices to match the Apple price minus the gift card so buy whatever is most convenient
Wish I knew about this before I bought my MBA on November 5. Do you think Apple might help me out?
This happened to me last year, they said the only thing I could do would be to return then rebuy it to get the gift card

People naively rushing to the website expecting some kind of Black Friday deal
In Portugal they’re offering like a €50 gift card when buying an AirPods Pro 2 (€279). Not bad if you plan on buying something extra but not good enough to entice me
Especially when the price on Amazon is lower by the same price they offer you as a gift card (at least in my country).
Last year, you got a $50 Apple Gift Card with an iphone, a $75 gift card for Airpods, a $50 gift card with Apple Watch, a $50 with iPad, a $250 gift card with a Mac, a $50 with accessories, or a $50 with Beats headphones.
I imagine it'll be something similar. Not too terrible if you are looking to upgrade, but meh otherwise.
They already announced it several days ago and has been on their site. It is just giftcards, no discounts or free headphones or anything. Just their basic minimal GC with purchase on older released stuff
That explains why the Mac App Store app was crashing trying to draw its main window. I'm glad to see it is fixed now.

The language used on the German store for example is a bit vague what is an "eligible" location.

Historically BF GC promo is for new products only. Similarly to Apple EDU GC Promo.

Hello,
- If I order an Ipad online (in store pickup in the US if it matters), do I receive the gift card right away? In that case I'll use the gift card towards an Apple Pencil.
- Or would I receive the gift card when I actually pick up the Ipad, if so would I receive it via email?
I ordered a MacBook Air and received the email after it was sent for delivery. I’m assuming because it’s in stock in store you’d probably get it right away.
Welcome to the tutti-fruitti, phoney-baloney, plastic banana, good time, rock-n-roll Apple PR hype. They do this every year to create astroturf excitement. It’s like they don’t believe in their own products and have to gin-up interest with these little games. Meanwhile, every other major retailer manages to update their site without taking it offline.

what a joke these black friday sales are. Promo only applies if you buy an old iphone or an inferior mac. This is called a getting rid of old inventory sale.
