Wanted a Nick Chubb Browns retro jersey. $170 on the NFL team shot website. Went to a Chinese knockoff site, I could’ve bought 7 different jerseys for $170. The price difference is just insane. How can they justify pricing a jersey at $170? Do people actually buy it?

They only sell for that price because they can get that price. People need to quit being dumb and spending all that money on cheap overpriced crap.

You know you can buy one that looks identical for $10 right?

If you think the cheap Chinese knock off will do the same job as the real thing then you may as well go for it.

I mean if NFL GM thought a cheap Chinese knock off could do the same job as their starting RB they would.

Ffs, I wanted to read this but the mods decided no

Just order knockoffs and save your money.

I have been a jersey-head for years and years. When the Titans announced that they were doing throwbacks over the summer I was really excited. Then my DH-22 arrived. The shield was crooked af. So I complained. So they sent me another one. Guess what? Yep. Shield crooked af. So the sent my $ back and I have two shitty jerseys.

Never mind that. The costs to actually go to a game are getting out of reach these days.

They knockoffs are 50/50 being completely horrible though. I have multiple from dh gate. 3 look like clear fakes, really bad quality, won't wear them. 1 is perfect

Chinese site you can definitely tell. Had the name around my waste.

I really wanted a new Seahawks throwback this year. Went to my first game and checked them out in the pro shop. They looked so cheap for the price they were asking, fuck that. I really wanted a Witherspoon one, but ill have to look at a knockoff instead.

it's because it has a holographic emblem dawg, a duh. /s

in all seriousness, $170 for a jersey, come the fuck on. Even on thanksgiving, I had to go through 30 minutes, just to find the fucking game I wanted to watch (49ers vs. Seahawks).

and then after all that, even with an NFL+ subscription, I basically missed the entire 1st quarter because some advertiser didn't know how to target a demographic

Nfl shop? They have the vapor ones with stitching and they are always like 25-30% off.

A crazier thing is the NHL not making adidas jerseys available to the public

[–] Sinnerandsmoke@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What? I'm currently wearing an Adidas NHL jersey.

[–] d0nu7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Meanwhile the jersey you would have purchased from the NFL team shop is no longer made by Nike. It is made in a Chinese factory by Fanatics and is little better than a polyester shirt with screen pressed numbers. No stitches to be found at all.

Fanatics is the worst thing to ever happen to sports merchandise.

[–] baummer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nike’s shit has been made overseas for decades

[–] sjm320@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Michael Rubin is a worm.

[–] bick803@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The fanatics-made jerseys are nowhere near $170.

[–] Sentientmustard@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The quality of jerseys now is just atrocious too. A couple years ago I bought a Jonathan Allen jersey for over $100. After putting it through the washing machine (made sure air dry it to avoid damage) multiple giant spots on the numbers chipped off. Like I don’t need a jersey to be in mint condition, but I’d prefer the numbers to not disappear if I dare to wash the beer stains off of it after a game.

Wifey and I are about to come from Aus to the US to our first game, I assume Walmart sells terrible quality jerseys? Was thinking about getting some there before the cowboys game and also the Dallas stars game we will go to..

Here to add another middle finger to Fanatics
