I wonder how nicely the upgrade will it play with a $HOME that's been running Plasma 5 for a couple of years.

I guess I should probably backup .config and .local beforehand

Glad to see all the Wayland fixes. Hopefully on the drivers side it'll work out for most people/devices.

Gnome is defaulting to Wayland since years and for the majority of people nothing noticeable changed. Then there are NVidia users...

I noticed two issues actually.

  1. can't open drop down terminal without a window selected

  2. can't use super + $ as my "go to desktop 5" - for whatever reason.

Curiously is there a way to pull up a task manager when kde or Wayland freezes without dropping into a ptty?

Ctrl+t+top/htop?

You can also can try KRunner, alt+space which is suppose to run apart from Plasma itself.

I think it was Alt+F2 ... Wasn't it? edit: both shortcuts work by default..
