"football"....

[–] ElectrikDonuts@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Will it track his CTE progress?

[–] Soaddk@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Collision detection will fill up that CTE ring. 😊👍

[–] beanie_0@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Why wouldn’t it be?

[–] olydan75@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Would be cool to see more real time stats for coaches by smart apparel. Science nerd me wants to believe he has on some sorta smart clothing that the Apple Watch is tracking. 🤓

[–] Jack_-_R@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That's a great advertisement! I don't know of any 'wearing watch' rules ??

[–] ThomasBies@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (6 children)

Genuine question: why wouldn’t the watch be legal?

[–] Lurals8402@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Oh! It’s also especially bad to wear a smartwatch as it could be a means of communication between coaches/players. I recently learned from Josh Dobbs joining the Vikings right before their next game that the coaches headset to the in-helmet mic gets cut off with like 15-ish seconds left on the play clock

[–] derpyfox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bookies telling them take a dive. Most sports here, it’s no coms from the time you hit the dressing room.

[–] kolinthemetz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As someone already stated, the physical safety of having a hard object on your wrist could be dangerous. Another reason is that there are rules and laws set around communication between players and coaches on the field and off, and what can and can’t be done with regards to gathering information about the other team and outside perspectives. AW could potentially breach these I guess.

[–] Soaddk@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As long as it is the Nike version it is allowed. 😂 Nike sponsors the uniforms.

[–] BaBoomShow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

College has strict rules with who can get a headset and talk to players/coaches. You can read texts on the field.

[–] DiscardedPizza@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Also, someone can text him information about the other team's plays.

[–] Alternative_Case_878@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What is the most expensive video-streaming service at this time? College

[–] Adventurous_Pay_5827@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Hope he doesn’t have collision detection activated.

[–] curiouspoops@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

fall detection too, i think it's on by default when a workout is detected

[–] steeldragon88@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Nope, it’s active all the time, and likes to go off if I reach down to pick something up too quickly at work

[–] Sway_RL@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You can turn it off though, I’ve got mine set so fall detection is on while doing a workout.

[–] steeldragon88@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Thanks, I never realized it was possible to.

[–] curiouspoops@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nope this is false, you can turn it off or even set it to on during workouts.

Open the Apple Watch App, go to Emergency SOS, and then you can toggle it from there.

[–] tarsier86@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Mine is on all the time. I’ve had it go off several times when I’ve been hot at work!

[–] supasit58@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hit at work?

[–] DKplus9@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I thought fall detection was only on by default if the wearer is over a certain age like 65.

[–] curiouspoops@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think there are two types of detection. Fall detection and risk of falling alerts. I have the fall detection only turned on while in a workout. I have the 2nd gen SE. You can also turn it off completely.

[–] mmxxvisual@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He must have “football” mode on

[–] zpk5003@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Why would Jim Harbaugh do this

[–] techieman33@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jim didn’t have a clue it was happening. It was all Connor Stallions.

[–] neatgeek83@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I swear I read an article about this earlier in the season.

[–] Oldcrrraig@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gonna assume yes because multiple players wear them

[–] FastLine2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Watches and Jewelry weren’t legal back when I played high school ball

[–] skithegreat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gotta get those steps in!!!

[–] mhowie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Assume that's an Ultra?

[–] ProdesseQuamConspici@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Does not look like an Apple Watch to me - the crown appears to be centered on the side, which is not something Apple ever did.

[–] mrrobvs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s an ultra. You’re seeing the large protrusion on the side that’s creating the illusion of a centered crown.

[–] BigBaldFourEyes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I can’t believe they’re not Nike branded.

[–] Specialist-Estate976@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

it's a rugby, man, football is played with foot my ass..

[–] cha0ss0ldier@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fun fact. “Football” has nothing to do with moving the ball with your feet.

The term dates back to a time where it was created to differentiate between sports played on foot and sports played on horseback. They just adopted that name when American football started and it stuck.

[–] Break_Street@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

When people complain about shit they should’ve be worrying about It’s not that serious. Let the man get his rings.

[–] SimpIyFlacid@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s being told when to take a dive

[–] taiwan-numba-one@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gotta close them rings

[–] moriend@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] techtom10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not sure, but Odell Beckham Jr wears a Richard Mille. I think that's more of an issue

[–] shivaswrath@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He needs his steps...look at his weak ass glutes.

[–] bills_2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

When you have to track the workout, you have to track the workout

[–] G0LDiEGL0CKS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think k he’s trying to do a world record on the rings. 😂😂😂
