I get that he should've played until the whistle but it genuinely looked like he didn't realize the play was alive. There have been many times in the past where players gave little to know effort (like the cam Newton fumble).

He’s been a bum for a while. Can’t forget him complaining about not getting the ball last season just to drop a wide open pass on the next play
