I do a decent amount of treadmill running but always record it as an indoor walk. (too lazy to scroll for the indoor run I guess) My vo2 max is “below average”. Is it possible my vo2 be inaccurate by not specifying that I am running and not actually walking? Or does it not matter?

I thought vo2 max required outdoor walk/run to get a reading.

The Apple Watch will only give you VO2 Max estimate values for outdoor running, walking, or hiking workouts. So all your indoor walking or running doesn't give you any VO2 Max estimate values.
