Fuck around and find out is how it be sometimes.

[–] T4lsin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Oh lawd they crossed a line! I’d fine him just for the stupid apology.

[–] cerevant@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (6 children)

I’m not going to defend the fan here, but an apology the contains “but” is not an apology.

[–] mohiben@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ok but it’s the “apology” merited by the situation he describes. He should acknowledge it’s wrong to push, while also providing his (valid) explanation

[–] GhoullyX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As the great Phil Dunphy once said "love the I love you, getting awfully tired of the "but""

The content of what the fan said doesn’t matter. Lawson cannot react like this and deserves punishment for approaching the fan. If his allegations against the fan are true, the fan should have been dealt with (and should still be handed a ban themselves), but that still doesn’t excuse Shaq losing his cool. He’s a professional and should be acting like one.

NFL should talk to security that was right in front of the fan and then suspend Lawson even longer for coming up with this bs excuse.

Did the line-crosser face repercussions?

One of those lines is the barrier between the stands and the field

Drunk fans are annoying even when they're supporting your team. Guy should have been moved

[–] AleroRatking@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

We don't even know he said anything. The few videos weve seen don't show it.

[–] MrIrrelevantsHypeMan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The guy was clapping on the side of a beer can.

He's annoying no matter what he said

[–] Clubblendi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t want to be a part of any fan base that considers that egregious

Players should get to punch one fan per season. Most of them are gonna use it on someone bitching about fantasy points

[–] AleroRatking@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Or ruining their 8 leg parlay they put 5 dollars on.

And that fan wins, they'll brag about it forever. Good job way to give in. Pathetic.

[–] lkn240@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They've been like this forever. I'm not sure why anyone is giving Eagles fans the benefit of the doubt.

I mean this is just fucking gross:

Didn’t bears fans stab a fellow bears fan simply because he complimented the Packers?

[–] AchtungCloud@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It would be more surprising if a Philly fan didn’t say something that deserves a punch to the face. That’s kinda their whole thing, right? Be as vile as possible, but know they’re protected and have strength in numbers.

[–] cmay91472@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There is a new video where you can hear the interactions from a fan that was just two seats away. Shocking that Lawson is full of shit and there were no threatening of family remarks.

[–] Mr7three2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)
[–] nimama3233@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Threats are more than words by the legal definition.

Whether they actually happened is obviously going to be impossible to discern, but “just words” isn’t really accurate if there was indeed actual threats to his family.

Theres a bunch of videos of fans filming this entire encounter and the events leading up to it. TBH you cant hear shit but i would doubt other Eagles fans would be willing to upload these videos if they corroborated what Lawson is claiming..

[–] cmay91472@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

97.5 was talking about the video posted by a fan that was sitting two seats away which you could clearly hear what was being said during the alleged exchanges. No threatening remarks as many suspected.

[–] nimama3233@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (7 children)

They filmed the entire game and each interaction? Lmao

It's Philly, I believe Lawson

[–] AleroRatking@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ah yes. Changing the narrative to play the victim. You can't push fans.

[–] cmay91472@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Surprise… Surprise. Turns out Lawson is full of shit. It’s bad enough to engage with hecklers. Even worse to push a fan. Despicable to then try to justify your actions by blatantly lying on social media. What a POS. He didn’t think there would be other videos of the alleged incident that showed what actually happened? There was no threatening of family members. Hopefully someone will post the new footage soon.

Source… local sports radio was talking about the new footage this morning showing Lawson was lying. They didn’t even think the whole incident was that big of a deal, just questioned why athletes engage with hecklers, and dispelled the accusations of threatening remarks.

Pure anecdotal life lesson from someone who lived with Eagles fans for over 8 years (in college, then through military) and was around a lot in the Air Force:

There’s two types of Eagles fan. There’s the rational, yet mega-fans; then there’s the toxic pieces of trash that Lawson is describing. You can’t tell the difference at first. My only discernible litmus test I’ve seen is ask them this question: what do you think of McNabb? The toxic pieces of trash can’t stand him. It’s the quickest way I’ve been able to determine their “type.”

[–] Infinite_Mind7894@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is literally humanity. 🙄 People are such clowns about "Philly fans".

Wonder what Eagles fans have against McNabb. Dude basically revived that franchise during the 2000s.

Yeah, like shoving a fan.

“I apologize, but I’m not sorry”.

This dude is such a piece of shit. Fans heckle players, it’s a part of the game and always has been. What is not a part of the game is walking off the sidelines and pushing a fan like an uncontrollable jackass.

Isn’t Lawson also the one who made like 3 unbelievably dirty plays on Jergens that night as well where even Tony Romo was sticking up for the Eagles after seeing?

Honestly this guy has no right being in the NFL.
