From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

wayland, systemd, and pipewire are good

I run in a VM everyday for work since they won't let me install Linux directly and Wayland and Pipewire have been problematic for me. Video playback is pretty choppy (which I don't need, but it's not a smooth experience) and if I want to get sound out of the VM I have to move back to pulse. It's been pretty frustrating. Systems, though - haters can stuff it. Systemd is good.

Hey, no one's forcing anyone to use a corp distro. I ditched Ubuntu comoletely as soon as I saw a pro feature in it. Now I'm on Void exclusively.

Isn't Ubuntu Pro free for individuals?

I don't know, but any feature like that makes me wanna steer away from that product.

I think people are generally missing the point that this was intended to be humorous. I know I got a chuckle out of it.
