At least he's got a cool hat

[–] infectoid@lemmy.world 33 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s not his. He borrowed it off a mate.

Not really. More of an acquaintance, or maybe a ‘work friend’.

"I only got so many fucks to give. I'll pass on this one."
This is a healthy mentality... So long as it's not something essential...

Stop delaying that thing you need to do. You can't pass on it.

You're not my real dad! Don't tell me what to do!

[–] zerofk@lemm.ee 19 points 2 years ago

Agreed, koala friend. Agreed.

[–] psmgx@lemmy.world 18 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sometimes you gotta admit it is what it is and move on.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago

What if it’s not what it is though??

After doing back breaking and expensive work cleaning a close relative’s house up after a hoarder rented with this exact attitude, you can fuck right off with it, mr koala.

I'm confused about whether you don't think hoarders aren't mentally ill?

Pretty obviously things wrong with them.

Hell, on that topic, don't help your landlord friend for free. They want to run a business they can pay for your labor.

Not when they are terminally ill, elderly and on a pension. Other people are allowed to have illnesses and conditions and one person with an illness is not an excuse to take advantage of the vulnerable.

At best it’s an explanation. It Doesn’t give them a pass with that behavior.

A pension.

And income from their rental properties.

Their business.

But, hey, they made a life out of exploiting renters, why not exploit their friends and family too before they kick it?

Nah, you're right.

Mentally ill people just need to stop being ill, lazy bastards!

Not when they are terminally ill, elderly and on a pension.

Not... what?

Other people are allowed to have illnesses and conditions

Ok?

one person with an illness is not an excuse to take advantage of the vulnerable.

Then... stop letting them take advantage of you?

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

‘Letting them”

Manipulators are in the wrong. Stop shaming victims.

[–] irmoz@reddthat.com 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

You changed your tune pretty fucking quick. What happened to his terminal illness being used as an excuse?

[–] PersnickityPenguin@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Ah so you've met my elderly mum

[–] Sarahli88@lemdro.id 1 points 1 month ago

That koala has a point, sometimes you just gotta move on. It reminds me of those silly online games. I wasted way too much time on one of those idle games, something like a chicken jockey clicker, just mindlessly tapping away. I guess there's a time and place for that kind of escape, but definitely not when real life stuff needs doing.
