160? That's cute. Last time I saved my tabs in case of crash I had 1200.
Once I hit 1800 I think.
Me when I'm balls deep in a research project. It's even worse with how some browsers allow you to group and hide tabs!!

I never understood why people keep tabs open. If I'm not going to use this information in the next day or so, I just bookmark it and come back to it later.

I have 100+ tabs open at a time, but with the exception of a few pinned tabs the 100 tabs I have open today are not the 100 tabs I have open in a few days.
But how do you tell the difference between things you'll need in the next day, and things you just think you'll need?
Real question, my phone has given up even counting the open tabs, please help.

You know, this has actually genuinely inspired me to add a new task to my end of week review. Maybe I can just start closing the pointless ones once a week and the habit will grow from there? We can but dream, we can but dream...
I do bookmarked lots of websites. Going back to maybe 10 years ago (when did firefox implement sync?). Some of them duplicated or cease to function. I also never open them again form bookmark.
With open tabs, at least I re-read them again, even if only to check if I still want to read them or to close them.
At some point I exceeded 500, but I also have firefox simple tab groups (formerly known as panorama) so I'm usually not looking at a window of more than 100 at a time, and any tabs I haven't visited since last launch aren't loaded into ram until I click over to them so they behave more like bookmarks except instead of creating/organizing/cleaning up bookmarks in addition to tabs I just browse/organize/close tabs. Each rabbit hole I go down gets a tab group so if I'm done with a topic I can just close the whole group.
Doing pretty well at just 27. I don't feel anything until the mobile Chrome tab button is a smiley face.
I have 30 duck duck go tabs open rn. I keep trying to reduce them, but I feel like they're important to keep up.
It's like a fucking addiction. I have 50 open right now.
I currently have 306 tabs open in chrome on my phone. That might be about average for me if I had to guess.

I'm very good at keeping only a few tabs open and closing them when I'm done. I used my mums phone to look something up and chrome wouldn't even give a tab count, just a smiley face...
I pretty much have to use Firefox as it is the only browser that can handle the couple hundred tabs I have open.
Maybe that's just me, but I always delete tabs as a sign of: "OK, I found what I was looking for". If not tho...
Yeah, tabs are like to do lists. This stays open until I complete the task, purchase, or learning journey I was on.

The fact that I have Lemmy tabs in my music window means that I have failed.

Those are Rookie numbers. Got 67 tabs on mobile, and 6ish windows with 30-50 on my laptop. Not sure how many are on my desktop, but it's spread across 3 browsers.

Tree style tabs. Leaving 100 tabs open is a sign you don't know how to use a computer.
Or, as in my case, know how to use a computer but have moderate to severe ADHD. Your sweeping generalisation borders on ableism tbh..
