I did read the first book and it leaned into the dystopian parts a lot more than the movie despite the ending being equally lib. Like the movie has a drone flying in a pizza delivery in the first couple minutes of the movie when in the book everyone eats nutrient paste.
Didn't both the movies lose money? At the very least, the second one?

Watching Trigun is a much better use of one’s time.
I see a few articles speculating a 2025 or 2026 release date, I don't think it's going to happen but we'll see but I hope not.
The first movie made a net profit of like $450 million and I think they're still discussing whether to make a sequel of the second book because everyone said that it sucked ass.
I can't wait to have my own personal John Candy simulation to torture forever!

I knew someone who watched that movie as a part of some defense contractor recruitment thing. He was so disgusted he converted to Islam after that. Needless to say he did not take the job.
