This is fucking hilarious!

Imagine the conversation;

"Okay so what's the situation?"

"Sir we lost most of the devs and tech savvy people"

"Shit that's bad. What else"

"Lot of unpaid volunteers that moderated the most popular subreddits left too!"

"What the fuck! This is bad. Really bad. What else?"

"Powerusers that created and shared content left too. We have significantly less upvote count on posts of /r/all!"

"Fuck! We need a plan! Let's make people forget we cannot operate a website. What can we do?"

"Well /r/place has always been successful in the past. We've had great results with this"

"You are a genius! This is perfect! They will forget we fucked them over and this whole fiasco will be swept under the rug and we can finally move forward!"

/r/place :

Have many reddit devs left?

[–] Puppy@kbin.social 23 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Sorry I meant the devs that used the API to creates 3rd party apps, fun subreddits bots & RES style addons. Basically the people that made Reddit what it was. At least, the ones I know joined the fediverse and haven't logged back into their reddit account since July 1st or before!

[–] Zeth0s@reddthat.com 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No need to be sorry, thanks for the clarification ;)

[–] Puppy@kbin.social 9 points 2 years ago

I'm canadian................. sorry

We have significantly less upvote count on posts of /r/all!

Is that actually true? Sounds too good to be true, and the statistics I've seen so far don't support it (been a couple of weeks, though).

I love that RIF's (and other third-party apps') logos are on there. RIF was so good.

[–] Beefcyclone@lemmy.world 27 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's weird to think an app i used so much is dead through no fault of its own and that now its just the beforefor times

[–] eu@kbin.social 5 points 2 years ago

For me it was Boost (also Joey, but for a much shorter time). Jerboa works fine I guess but I'm really looking forward to the release of Boost for Lemmy.

[–] Tyfud@lemmy.one 2 points 2 years ago

Hell yeah it was. I deleted my 13 year old account the day they disable its API access.

[–] thenofootcanman@lemmy.world 48 points 2 years ago

Oh wow look at all that reddit engagement. They must be quaking

[–] atocci@kbin.social 46 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This one doesn't look very fun... guess I don't mind not being there for it

[–] Bipta@kbin.social 53 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (3 children)

Disagree; making the entire canvas "FUCK SPEZ" is a blast.

[–] bobs_monkey@lemm.ee 57 points 2 years ago (2 children)

They're also making a guillotine over a snoo labeled spez that the admins keep trying to erase lol

[–] argv_minus_one@beehaw.org 19 points 2 years ago

Vive la révolution!

[–] flicker@kbin.social 4 points 2 years ago

Ahhh, the French.

[–] antonim@lemmy.world 21 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Until moderators just cover it all with random pixels, as they did for similar controversial/NSFW stuff in '22.

[–] Quatity_Control@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

How many fuck spez signs do you think they are waiting for before they act?

[–] antonim@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

They're already acting. The guillotine is now erased.

They're not touching the "fuck spez" signs, true. Still, remember that in the last edition there was a massive amogus cock extending across half the canvas throughout most of the event and it was eradicated by the end as well. So based on that I wouldn't bet the "fuck spez"-s will survive either. (Not that their survival would mean anything...)

[–] atocci@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago

Yeah, that's fair

[–] argv_minus_one@beehaw.org 17 points 2 years ago (1 children)

fuck spez :3

Someone with socks must've written that one.

Also, is that the old AOL logo in the bottom right?

[–] slyme@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago

>make bad decision that screws over most if not all of their platform's userbase
>give the same userbase a canvas to draw on
>"fuck spez"

Sync was the balls. Smooth as butter, great layout, no adds, it was the reason I stayed on reddit for so long. He making one for Lemmy and I can't wait.

My Little.... Porno?

[–] JackGreenEarth@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Is this real, or what you want to be?

[–] hiyaaaaa23@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

This is real

[–] elgordio@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago
