The left is wrong for not voting because they aren't getting exactly what they want. Democrats are right for doing exactly what they want, even though it will inevitably "punish the world"
they love to perform this inversion of real power structures by imagining individual voters as gods holding the entire world in their hand, and elected officials as unshiftable entities with no more free will or agency than a tree shedding its leaves for winter. it's like liberal democracy's entire purpose is to obscure the concentration of power, not to distribute it broadly.
