Or how computers cause addiction and the internet is bad... funny how the tables have turned ๐Ÿ˜... we were outlaws and mental wrecks, now they can't live without us ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I don't speak for myself, I use Linux.

But I will agree that real devs use Linux, period.

Oh, Oh, I think I see it ๐Ÿคฏ.

Remeber that scene from Mall Rats with the boat... yeah, I kinda feel like that guy now ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ.

Yeah, read the reply above, I don't live in the US ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Lol, I don't live in the US ๐Ÿ˜‚. The price in $ was to cater to Lemmy users, which are mostly from the US from what I've gathered ๐Ÿ˜‚.

But google for the price of flash drives these days, you'll see that a 32GB one is about the same price as a burger, wherever you might live in the US.

Yeah, I can related to that ๐Ÿ˜”. I work in a TV station in a country that had the PAL standard, and... well, every fucking shot is interlaced ๐Ÿคฆ. Not only that, but the output from the station is as well ๐Ÿคฆ. Why? Backwards compatibility... what in the actual fuck ๐Ÿคฆ... it's a stream, the decoder doesn't care about that, it can decode any frame rate, any frame type, it's all digital now ๐Ÿคฆ. Tried explaining this, nope, we're still doing interlaced.

And, of course, after the cable companies have their way with the signal, the output is shit... not to mention they also archive the material as interlaced ๐Ÿคฆ... and then people from outside the station complain about the matrial being garbidge... they still don't budge.

Just goes to show you what management is all about these days. They have the power, so they're gonna use it any way they see fit. Why? Cuz they're THE BOSS GOD DAMN IT ๐Ÿ˜ .

See, this is mostly because of 2 things. One, when changing filenames, users make the stupid mistake of changing the extension as well (having no extension that is), which of course, in Windows, it means the file won't be recognized as a media file. Two, blind you from the truth - you don't want users that can think, that's not what our bysiness is about ๐Ÿ˜. Also the reason behind why Windows has less and less options and people that want to change something have to revert to registery hacks to do so.

And this only gets worse, since audio file tags (and I believe video files as well ๐Ÿค”) include album art nowadays, so it has an icon that is the album art... exe's also have custom icons, so ๐Ÿคท...

WTF ๐Ÿคฆ...

Yeah, definitely switching instances. Thanks for the heads up man ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿค—.

Yeah, beats me, I was surprised as well, like why do we still have to work with AVC clips, why can't I just import a HEVC clip... Premiere: nope, that ain't happenin'.

The weird thing is, there are no upvotes or downvotes. I've been downvoted to oblivion before, it's not news to me, it's the lack of it that makes me think that.

Fuck it, I'll switch instances again.

Agreed, proper h.265 support came way too late for some NLE's.
