It's in Chinese but Geekerwan does some pretty deep dives, or at least runs SPEC2017

Even if you're a hobbyist it looks like the 8GB Pro is not a great choice in c/apple@hardware.watch

At least you can buy a model with 16GB easily in stores now without needing a BTO. I remember it actually being easier to buy an iPad with 16GB of RAM than a Mac.

Poor Mac mini gets shafted. Woulda liked to see 8 performance cores somewhere, considering the M3 Max moved up to 10 performance cores for the base
