It’s hard to decide who I would rather lose the Europa League. Probably Spuds but it’s close.

I wouldn’t want him to be sold unless it was a very significant transfer fee

RIP George

One of my favourites 👍

Just released. Featuring J Mascis and Juliana Hatfield.

I was lucky enough to be at a live, radio set that The Lemonheads played, today. It was a fun time. Evan Dando mentioned that as well as the upcoming album, they have already recorded a whole other album.

Man, we will have no fit players for the remaining games. 😭

Congratulations!

Bummer. However, I've been to pre-season games and they are usually mediocre, at best. IDK if it being Spuds, would make a difference?

Also, imagine hearing "YNWA" every day since you were born and then deciding that "never" has some caveats.

Speed watched this when I woke up. Was very worried that it would end in a massacre after those first two goals. So, it was a very good point, in context. To come back, despite running on the sniff of an oily rag, is laudable. 🔴⚪️

Posted this track from my alt, a while ago. Just discovered this upload of what I guess is the official MV from the time.

"Melodie Is a Wound" – taken from the new Stereolab album Instant Holograms On Metal Film, out 23rd May 2025 on Duophonic UHF Disks and Warp Records.

It just crossed my radar that RK are reuniting and have some upcoming dates in the US and one in Canada. Also some reissues.

Enjoy a super low quality MV of this song.

New one. Jangly.

Having posted this, I had to also post this song with the same name. This is how my brain works.

I read the tragic news that Jill Sobule died in a house fire on 1 May 2025. RIP.

When Arsenal striker Kai Havertz stepped up to take a penalty against Bournemouth last season, it felt like his career was a crossroads. The German forward had joined Arsenal from their London rivals Chelsea for a hefty £60 million transfer fee, but he still hadn’t found the back of the net. And critics were questioning whether all that money had been a waste.

But when Havertz smashed the penalty into the bottom left corner and wheeled away to celebrate, 40,000 Arsenal supporters erupted into a brand new song—a remix of Shakira’s 2010 World Cup hit “Waka Waka,” with new, bespoke lyrics: “sixty million down the drain, Kai Havertz scores again.”

The Arsenal fans were serenading their new striker and laughing at his critics by saying: “who’s a waste of money now?”

This bizarre scene exemplifies a European football tradition that has evolved into a folk art form over decades, particularly in the English Premier League. Every weekend, supporters fill stadiums with complex, often witty songs that blend pop culture with football passion—creating a soundscape unlike anything in American sports.
