I have only ever seen negatives posted about these types of programs.

Keep in mind that the events are normally when you also want it.

Think of them turning your AC off during a heat wave type of event.

As someone who self hosts most things I would never hand over control to the utility for my HVAC.

Going to find out if things improved when I pull them out for Christmas again this year.

Picked up the Christmas lights 2 last year mattter allowed for on off and solid color control not much else. Nothing like scenes or patterns.

I used Govee2mqtt to control them instead from HA as the built in integration didn’t support that model yet last year and G2M just had way more features .

Government, has approved a cost saving measure that Canada Post has been asking for for years. It was mandated as a grandfathered item for existing service. New developments have all been community mailboxes for a long time.

Government is being reasonable, the Union is not.

He also rebranded it the Harper Government in all government ads and communications.

Ya most of the time it is the “exact” same video so it should be trivial for content ID to block. Hell we know they have auto transcripts they could even block on text it is so dumb.

Same I have reported a few of them already, YouTube is very slow to do anything about stuff like this.

The funniest thing to me is that even my MOST right leaning relatives on Facebook etc have started posting anti Trump stuff. Trump unified Canada in our dislike of him.

Interesting, no mention of proxmox

Current generation wifi 6E and 7 add 6Ghz which offers substantially more bandwidth / speed.

Wifi 7 also allows devices to use 2.4/5/6Ghz at the same time instead of just hard switching between them.

Would be a major setback since 6Ghz allows devices to easily hit Gigabit speeds wirelessly.

I was confused as it costs nothing but "enormous amounts of time" and back and forth with doctors to apply.

I had no idea there where for profit parasitic "optional" companies that would file for you.

The whole process should be easier and more automatic.. Like something your doctor flags on your file and just gets prompted to confirm AGAIN some time.

Having to constantly re-apply especially if you have disabilities that make the effort difficult and no family supports is horrible.

I was member as well so I AM your ilk, the coop had MILLIONS of members. IIRC from the last few disclosures less than 1% ever voted on anything.

I bet if you banded together even 10k worth of people to vote a certain way you could have swayed ANY of the open annual elections.

However what happened most of the time is about 5 whiny assholes showed up to AGM meetings and bitched and complained when they should have been rounding up support OUTSIDE the meetings to get people in to vote.

Probably the first article in a while that clearly outlines WHERE the negations are at and what each side wants.

There are several common words and terms I would like to stop seeing posts about but only in specific communities. Having the words or terms blocked in other communities or global matches too many things.

It would also be nice for the filter to be Title, URL or body specific.

I was recently trying to get some of the 4 player local games I have to work remotely.. Some have native multiplayer but with limitations (castle crashers only lets two local and two remote players play) bople battle only allows one local player in remote multi player mode.

However for both the above I was able to get remote play together working which basically let me map the remote player to a controller and play the game in local mode.

This however only worked on these games, I THINK they are linux native.. Games that didn't work / provide no controller mapping for remote play together Streets of rage 4, TMNT Redders revenge did not work. These games show support for remote play together in the steam library but I suspect the limitation is on the steam deck?

Anyone else have experience with Remote Play Together on the steam deck? It is nice as the remote party doesn't need a copy of the game and as noted gets around some of the multi player limits of some games.

Any suggestions? Alternatives? Tweaks?

Wouldn't be the holiday shopping season without some payment processing outages.

Due to variable subject length and these items being part of the same line as the subject they get pushed around a lot which makes them hard to see find when scrolling through history.

Would be nice if these links / scores where at the front of the subject OR the "next line" to be consistent.

lemmy.world is a victim of an XSS attack right now and the hacker simply injected a JavaScript redirection into the sidebar.

It appears the Lemmy backend does not escape HTML in the main sidebar. Not sure if this is also true for community sidebars.

When opening a discussion/comment from your profile / history you only see the replies to your comment.

Is there any way to expand all the replies to the topic? I don’t see any way do to that?

askacanadian has no posts yet is "trending"

Is there a way to search posts within a community?

I see there is a NSFW filter but is there or is it planned to have a text / post filter? I would really love of not see the constant posts about what is going on at Reddit or Twitter anymore. I left, I am done with that.

Just curious as this is all fun and open till it scales to expensive. What is the lemmy.ca plan to sustain / fund it self?

Constant donation nagging like Wikipedia?
