Ah yup, that is definitely the type of person who’s deeply attracted to cults.

Unfortunately there are a few things that make courts pretty tricky to implement in practice for things like the rationality, AI safety and EA communities. Badly implemented courts also can just make things worse by creating a clear target for attack and pressure. Seems very tricky, but probably we should have more courts (or maybe not, I would need to write the post to figure it out).

• Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam ("Turkish Star Wars") it's great it's fun it's inventive it does sampling
• After Last Season ; it's weird and sedate and bare and hypnotic and cool

they're legitimately great movies if you're into the possibilities of cinema imo but if you want well regarded movies that do similar things go with:

• Céline et Julie vont en bateau – Phantom Ladies over Paris
• Věra Chytilová's Daisies (Sedmikrásky)

they're all very fun and very free in form

also Céline & Julie would make a great muppet film i'm sure

I’ve done crowdsourced work qualifying bits of random work e-mails (had to determine “is this a query” if I recall correctly), and yeah this was like more than a dozen years ago.

Suppose you're a college grad who has to decide between the usual unpaid internships at dumb startups vs. getting to be a 'research fellow' for a group that says it's going to solve philosophy and save the world, and the only catch is that the group is actually a cult. Still seems pretty tempting honestly.
