American firms in Russia paid the country $1.2 billion in profit taxes in 2023, according to figures from campaign group B4Ukraine and the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) Institute shared exclusively with Newsweek. This tax contribution makes the U.S. the largest contributor of foreign profit taxes to Russia, something a former top U.S. diplomat called "shameful."

Akazawa said convenience stores and their distribution networks could be utilised in the event of disaster to help bring hot food to people in affected regions, for example.

"If Seven & i's convenience store business is in foreign hands and run solely for profits, we'll have to think about various things, such as whether we can we get full support when our people affected by the disaster are suffering," he said.

Spiders are milked using a pipette which sucks up their venom. This is done once every week as the spiders can get exhausted from too many milkings.

The park needs between 200 and 300 spiders to milk every year, and needs 3,000 milkings to produce enough venom for the antidote.

The venom is sent to laboratory Bio CSL where it is injected in incremental doses into rabbits.

The bunnies gradually build up antibodies in their blood, which the laboratory extracts to make a serum.

Those poor bunnies, we're basically biting them with a funnel web constantly to harvest their bile.

The hypersonic missile to be derived from the Ching Tien would feature improved range and a mobile launch platform, while the latter would most likely be a 12x12 single chassis truck designed by the Czech company Tatra, they said.
