I think of the scene from Love, Death and Robots.

"After the hydroponics failed they had to resort to... Extreme Democracy."

It didnt matter when hunans read applications, now, its an effort filter and an auto-reject if you dont make the computer happy.

It is yourself. Because winning or losing is less important than having fun. If you did not have fun, then you lost, no matter the outcome.

On top of that, due to it just being a report that someone was booked into a jail, they dont report their name. So it appears that all crime in Florida is comitted by one very dedicated couple.

The classic joke: (not mine. Do let me know if it does not go over well)

The Greeks invented sex.

The Romans introduced it to women.

I feel like there is a gram of actual concern here, not enough to be a broken clock sorta situation for the regressive party, but the health of the president has, I feel, become a political matter.

This diagnosis isnt something that appears in this short amount of time (Im not a medical professional, please correct me if im wrong) and likely would have been caught back when he was in office. Given his age, it would feel like malpractice not to at least check for it. Unless they admit that the public report of the presidents health is different from the one they get private, this is a catch-22 and breaks the public trust of the doctors who care for the most important person in the country.

It would be more than concerning under any other administration, but your right, we expect the current one is just going to tell him that golden arches is the elixir of life and the public that he can ace the presidential fitness test (including the pacer).

Stomp out the regressives, then you can have your idealogical fight, as a treat.

I fear you are vastly underestimating the horror of the collective hive mind of the internet and what people are capable of... Nothing is sacred. Rule 34 exists for a reason, its a warning to not dig too deep. (DO NOT GOOGLE THAT, It states that if something exists there is porn of it, and there are sites with its namesake that endevor to catalog it...)

The problem with building rigid objects with 3d printers is that their weakest point is usually along the layer lines. So even if pieces of real firearms are made of nylon or ABS, they would be injection molded or use a process that forms more durable shapes.

My nerd herd likes the game, although we quickly have been adding mods to ramp up the difficulty and add some quality of life stuff. For a social game, I like it over Lethal Company because everyone gets to participate and there is no designated AFK role that watches the cameras or activates the teleporters.

Question: What do people in this community recommend for self-hosted instant messanger projects? I host a VOIP service for my nerd herd and due to recent events i'm attempting to migrate out groups chats off of the major platforms (Discord, Google chats, Slack, Etc.) as well.

There are a few notes that were requested/requirements.

  • Self-hosted
  • Supports images
  • Has a decent mobile app
  • Encrypted communication
  • Expected load ~25 users.

I am doing my own digging but wanted to hear the communites opinions on some of the projects that came up in searches.

  • IRC/XMPP - dosent really work for the request but is a classic, so I feel had to mention it.
  • Rocket.Chat - seems like the best option so far, but I was having trouble finding current reviews, and its licensing is a bit much.
  • Matrix also is close to checking all the boxes, but it wasnt clear how it works on mobile (Element seemed like the mobile app that was recommended).
  • Revolt was high on the SEO results but most of the discussion around it was about drama with the maintainers (that is what prompted this post, i'm fishing for more current opinions).
  • Zulip seemed similar to Rocket.Chat, but more expensive if we had to get a license.

I appreciate peoples opinions and recomendations on this topic.
