I agree with the ISO approach, but unfortunately without mainstream adoption in a majority of countries it's just another standard.

I'm going to Linux because I have an older i5 (I think 5th or 7th gen?) which isn't compatible.

I only really kept Windows for gaming but Valve has put a lot of effort into making Linux gaming more accessible and I'm willing to try it out now

There just doesn't seem to be a market for 5G Ethernet modems domestically. Everybody seems to be gravitating towards 5G routers and "Hubs" in the residential space.

If your router supports it, you'll have better luck with a USB dongle over an Ethernet modem.

I only use my desktop for gaming now but it's old and won't run Win11. I'm going for a SteamOS general release then I'll just drop windows on there altogether
