This is going to effect a lot more than those real estate platforms. Not a lot of people know that the same systems are currently being used to artificially and slowly raise the price of typically cheap produce. The best example currently being potatoes. I've certainly noticed potatoes going up in price the last few years but didn't think much of it because of all the crazy shit happening that's making lots of stuff expensive. Turns out the reason is because of price fixing on staples and now it's only going to get worse.

I was lucky enough to experience the 4 day work week for 1 glorious year. I used my extra day to schedule weekday appointments without taking time off, taking care of chores so I could enjoy the weekend more, and doing more hobbies when I wasn't doing those other 2 things. It was the best quality of life I ever had.

I was going to say, I didn't have Internet until college we still had CD-ROMs, game consoles, and of course the public library for Internet when needed. Not that these options aren't excellent free entertainment.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the real trick to managing pests in your home, is to allow the right predator pests to exist. The best ones are spiders and centipedes. Centipedes are especially the best because they won't ever hurt you, they mostly stay out of sight, and they don't leave webs hanging around. But when you do see one you will probably freak the fuck out. You just have to remember that they eat earwigs and mites and such and try not to kill them. Spiders are also great to keep around, but there should be a big asterisk about how I live in Illinois and most spiders are harmless here.

I had a super cool N64 film camera that I took with me to sleepovers and took lots of shitty photos with because I was a dumbass kid that didn't know anything about photography.

The sad part about that is building a PC is easier than ever. I hadn't built one in over a decade and was shocked to find out that everything is toolless and just snaps right into place! The only part that's maybe intimidating for newbies is putting the thermal paste down without making a mess but even then, you just go slow and take your time and you'll be fine.

Hate to say it, but lots of people still buy VW even when the current CEO is still sympathetic to Nazis. Unfortunately Tesla will be fine.

When I say this, my dog always does a double take. Like his head shoots straight up and he looks around excited, but he doesn't freak out until I say it again and confirm that we are, in fact, going for a walk.

The photo of the plate isn't even centered :/

About a year ago, I was unable to drink alcohol for medical reasons. So I dove into some recipes for non-alcoholic cocktails, and I wasn't disappointed. There are loads of excellent non-alcoholic recipes that I enjoy just as much as their alcoholic counterparts.

This recipe is from the book Good Drinks:

  • 1oz basil matcha syrup
  • 1oz heavy cream or full-fat coconut milk
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 3 oz soda water
  • matcha for garnish

Shake syrup, cream, and juice with ice and strain into a Collins glass over ice. Add soda water carefully and garnish by sprinkling matcha powder on top.

Enjoy your Independence Day weekend!

Ok it didn't exactly do anything crazy, but it was blooming like we had never seen before this last November! Absolutely gorgeous!

Lei Lani Volcano from my favorite tiki book Smuggler's Cove! What are your favorite cocktail books?

Recipe:

  • 3oz Bundaberg guava soda
  • 1 1/2oz pineapple juice
  • 3/4oz lime juice
  • 1oz coconut cream
  • 1 1/2oz blended aged rum

Add soda to a collins glass. Then add remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with cracked or cubed ice. Shake and double strain into the glass. Gently add cracked or cubed ice to the glass and garnish.

Hello again! Feast your eyes upon the meal doomed to end up all over the table and your lap!

Going to start posting some classics this week to get engagement up. Please enjoy these lettuce bits on pegs with what looks to be not enough dressing and bread.

This one turned out just excellent! Very refreshing and perfect for summer! I even made one with Gin for my mom and that one turned out great too!
