I didn’t read the post and took longer than it should have to realize that the bottom half-ish are non-Roman. (Numbers are Arabic! So half!)
I… speak Russian tho (badly, non-fluently), so I should have known..
Even better, make chive blossom vinegar, and use that as the base for pickled quail eggs.
I did this a few weeks ago after having made a quart of chive blossom vinegar (tho I used way way more blossoms than most recipes call for, because I like the flavor and have plenty), and they turned out a lovely pink and taste awesome.
Honestly I don’t know. It’s a yearly thing though in several places I know of. They have contests (usually through local tv stations) to guess the date it’ll fall through and stuff. People bet on it.
It may have to do with the fact that a lot of people go ice fishing so we regularly hear about big trucks falling through the ice, so it’s something to keep people aware of the danger..? Or rural folks might just find that fun, idk.
I wish I had the patience to make my bases actually look decent, and lay them out well for efficiency. Instead I end up with dozens of people (I had 85 at one point) and just madly try to accommodate all of them by settling the -entire- base map 😅
And then I give up because of overwhelming lag (don’t really have a gaming pc) and start over.
This looks really neat.
I really hope you enjoy them!
If you haven’t seen it, pantheon is also fantastic, tho it’s quite a bit heavier.
One of these days I plan to make an effort post of all the good stuff I’ve seen. I have no life, and collecting non-anime, not-for-babies, animated series makes me happy. I have about 500 of them at the moment, though I’ve watched less than half.
I really hope what they mean is clean water.
It can happen; there’s a paper mill by me that was actually an important part of the river cleanup process when the river was far worse than it is today. It takes water from the river, uses it for their needs, then treats it and returns it to the river far far cleaner than they took it out, which has been a net benefit for the entire downstream river ecosystem. That plan, and their follow-through, is the only reason that mill exists at all.
Thing is, where are they going to find this not-particularly-clean water to treat and return? Are they going to need all new infrastructure built to accommodate this?
And why is that cheaper/easier/whatever than just making a closed loop cooling system, which they could have done from the being..
You know, at least in my area, when they wheel a vehicle out onto the ice in winter to gamble about when it’ll fall through in spring, they strip out all the fuel lines and interiors and stuff and just leave the shit frame, and the cars themselves don’t work prior to being selected for this. I’m pretty sure they also retrieve them afterwards.
Could they do something better with the thing? Almost certainly. But at least it’s not… as bad as launching fully functional cars into a river just for funsies..
Wolfboy and the everything factory is a really cute save the world adventure, where the main character is transported to the everything factory, the place where all things for the earth are made by magical sprites.
It stays relatively light and cheery even when they venture into deeper topics, and overall just totally worth a watch. Two seasons, fully contained story.
It’s an Apple Original, which may be why nobody has heard of it (seriously, the fragmentation of media into all these services is hell for discoverability), but honestly I think they are probably the best production studio out there right now, especially for animated stuff.
If you’ve seen owl house and liked it, this has strongly similar vibes.
Many of us are honestly equally confused by the idea of always/frequently being horny, which I hear is the case for many many men (probably also a lot of women but you rarely hear about it). I legitimately cannot imagine it. I’ve never felt whatever that feels like, as far as I know.
Same.
I like to start conversations with strangers by asking them to tell me something they personally find interesting (specifically not something they think I’ll find interesting, something they do). Sometimes I get some great new information, sometimes just a short conversation.
It really weeds out people with no personality or hobbies or whatever, though. Like the dude who decided to explain basketball to me.. not as an info dump, just because he had nothing else to talk about and it was on tv..
Even the guy who told me about how he designs machines to make trash bags was more interesting than basketball dude.
I just have aquariums.
Like I also have a water fountain in the kitchen just for them made of old aquarium filter parts, but they never touch it. They drink from my bedroom or living room aquariums.
Maybe they like that the water is plant filtered, maybe they just like to be dicks, whatever the reason they only drink from aquariums
