I think instead of focusing on how to sell this product, we focus on the product itself because it's impossible to sell something that Democrats keep pulling off the shelf as "defective." Like any other item that people buy, committing to something only to have the "company" do a 180 and stop supporting it immediately after your "purchase" is just going to drive people away.

Most Democrats only seem interested in pushing progressive policies right up until they get elected and then it's always "not the right time" after the election.

Edit: also the product would sell itself if they actually implemented them and improved people's lives. It's kind of hard to deny things that exist right in front of your face, but we never seem able to get to that point because corporations and genocidal "allies" always take precedence over the American people regardless of which of these two parties hold office.

No it's more like "look both ways before crossing the street." Just because you have the crossing signal doesn't mean a truck isn't going to run the light and mow you down

Oh, good one! Maybe you can send your Civics textbook to Donald Trump and he'll realize the error of his ways. Great solution to the problem.

Use an antenna and a HDHomeRun. I can watch our local channels directly through Plex.

It's based on Neilson ratings so it's entirely dependent on whatever methodology they choose to use at the time. They can't actually directly count what every TV is tuned to.

Whoa, I guess we're all safe and sound then. Time to pack it up and go home.

Discovery did give us a glimpse of the future but then handicapped it with a lack of dilithium. I imagine it has to be tough to make interesting stories showing believable advancements of a completely imaginary and already well advanced society compared to our own. I do wish we could depart from Kirk/Spock like TNG, DS9, and VOY, whether they make it more advanced or not. It all feels too familiar to the neverending Skywalker nonsense that was played out after the first three films.

They (and apparently you too) want Democrats to pull power out of their ass.

Why shouldn't they? That's exactly what Republicans are doing. These people specifically ran to represent us and they need to act like it.

When they speak up

So you can openly admit they're not even bothering to do the bare minimum of speaking out about this stuff, yet still attack anyone who dares criticize them for the very inaction you referred to yourself?

I'm not mad or annoyed or anything, I'm just utterly baffled by how you use the internet.

Are you sure about that because this is the second time you've replied to me on this topic, clearly upset about something so trivial.

I knew there were two actors and saw the articles pointing out that they actually used 5 actors for the role when trying to google the name of the second actor who killed himself a several years back. Yes, I did read the article and saw that one was just in a photograph, which brings me back to my initial point of 'who really gives a crap?' My original comment was more of a joke than anything.

I'm not sure how relevant it is to compare public land in Utah against the smallest state in the nation, Rhode Island. Most of Utah is 'unihabitable' desert just like Nevada and Arizona which is why so much land can be undeveloped, another aspect states like RI don't have to contend with.

I don't go to the gym either but know several people who do and the equipment lets you strength train with a lot more weight than your body weight if that's what you're going for. You can use water jugs and stuff at home but that can be janky and potentially dangerous.

Also there's probably something to be said about traveling to a dedicated location for your workout to help you get out of the house, in the right mindset, etc. I'm sure it's similar to how some people love working from home while others prefer to go to the office to help focus better and socialize.

I've got several Amcrest cameras connected through Frigate (running standalone) to HA but I'm not sure how to properly setup the camera card so that the 'thumbnail' shown on the dashboard cards refreshes every so often.

Previously I had them connected directly to HA via the Dahua integration and set the camera streams as both the thumbnail image and as what's displayed when you click the card and this all worked fairly well (the thumbnail would refresh every few minutes) but now after switching to Frigate, the thumbnails have remained static since the day it was initially set up and never refresh and I'm not sure how to fix this.

The cameras are all PoE and connected to an Amcrest NVR which does the main recording while Frigate just sees the substream and uses it for object detection and remote viewing through HA. Clicking the camera cards allows me to view the stream but for whatever reason the thumbnails never refresh.

I'm migrating from lemm.ee and just created an account here but for some reason I'm seeing only a handful to zero comments on sh.itjust.works posts even when they show hundreds of comments.

I'm vaguely familiar with similar federation issues where you might not see old comments if you're the first person to subscribe to a community on a different instance, but I don't understand why I can't see comments on posts from what is now my native instance.

Can anyone clarify what's going on?
