It's cute you think you would actually win the argument with the "bodies under the front porch" (in your words), considering how this whole thread has been going for you so far.

[–] CriticalResist8@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Can you be serious for two fucking seconds? Jesus Christ liberalism is a terminal disease. Stop quoting a children's TV show and actually contend with real life.

Can you not think of any reason why the CPC in Xinjiang might be wary of weird AP reporters asking random people questions about covid and concentration camps on the streets? Have you literally not followed the RISE in anti-Asian hate crimes in the US? The accusations the US government flings at China every chance it gets?

do I come into your house and start throwing your plates on the ground? And then kick up a fuss when you ask me to stop? AP should be grateful they are allowed in Xinjiang, this isn't the century of humiliation anymore.

“Arabic is not the only language that compiles Allah’s classics,” the lesson said. “To learn Chinese is our responsibility and obligation, because we are all Chinese.”

Uhh what? Use your words and stop acting like a child. China officially recognizes 56 ethnic minorities, including Uyghurs. They all form the Chinese nation. Chinese does not mean solely Han. You don't know anything about China, maybe that's why your only arguments are drivel pulled from literal fiction. China is literally called Zhongguo in Chinese, which means Central Country. Chinese is Zhongwen, "language of the middle [country]". What about these words gives you the impression of [Han] Chinese supremacy?

Speaking of the George Floyd protests, there were videos of "workers" "innocently" leaving a pickup truck full of bricks in an area that the protestors were going to be passing through the next day. Like just parking a pickup truck and removing the tarp to reveal the neatly stacked bricks below it.

OP (the one from lemm ee) is just showing his privilege every time he comments.

Add them to the victims of communism and let's make more (by educating them so they become communist)

If NATO told liberals to jump, they'd say "fuck off authoritarian redfash tankie".

But there's somebody you forgot to ask, and it's Ukraine.

So NATO says to Zelensky "tell our idiots to jump or you won't get the new F-16". Zelensky does the song and dance and tells liberals to jump, and liberals say how high.

let's get this on federation shall we

We're doing something a bit different and holding a Q&A Session on Lemmygrad with ProleWiki!

Any question you have for ProleWiki, ask it here -- nothing is off limits. What we do, how we work, our content, who we are... you can ask anything you want.

I know Lemmygrad is like our biggest stronghold (lol) but we're doing this on Mastodon and Twitter soon so why not extend to the grad as well.

It will most likely be me answering. No time limit though, ask at any time!

I know I found it somewhere around here but I've looked and looked and can't find it. Please help

We're preparing a bigger survey that will see wider distribution, but to help me calibrate it and know what I want to ask, I want to run some preliminary questions here.

Your answers will help us improve the wiki in the short-term, so thanks for participating! You can simply comment below or send me a DM if you want to remain somewhat anonymous.

Section 1

  • Do you have an account on ProleWiki?
  • If not, why?
  • Were you aware that having an account on ProleWiki allows you to edit pages and participate in the editor community?

Section 2

  • How often do you visit ProleWiki in a week or month?
  • What keeps you coming back to ProleWiki?
  • What impact has ProleWiki had on you? Either positive or negative (please detail)

Section 3

  • Where do you feel ProleWiki is lacking?
  • Please take a page you remember that you didn't entirely like and provide your criticism of it, not only on the content but on the phrasing as well. Please don't choose a stub (we know they're too short 🙏)
  • How would you rate the language and tone used on ProleWiki from 1 to 10? With 1 being casual (as if between friends), and 10 being academic (as if presenting a paper to an auditorium).
  • Do you perceive ProleWiki to be a credible encyclopedia?

Bonus question: how would you like to see ProleWiki evolve?

Be as honest as you can, I won't take it personally.

Hexbearers can answer too now that we're federated btw, but this remains a small-scale internal survey until the real big one gets published.

wtf I thought we were doing a bit

https://prolewiki.redbubble.com

Our redbubble account was finally approved, which means we are now selling stickers, pins, magnets, even coasters lol. Tote bags, t-shirts... I mean, why stop at just stickers?

But that's not all, we teamed up with artist Tamaryn (https://www.artstation.com/tamaryn) who graciously offered some of her own art for our store, to help fundraise. I think her art looks dope.

We ended up settling for Redbubble due to two considerations: price and ease of access. They ship worldwide, and they are one of the cheapest POD (print on demand) service for the consumer. At this time we don't have the capabilities of offering all this stuff ourselves.

Of course, we encourage you to make your own stickers and pins if that's cheaper for you. It's shipping they get you on. We barely make any money on any sale, our main fundraising avenues are still direct donations, the store is just a way to get some merch (eyeing some of that stuff myself personally).

Anyway, we're pretty stoked about this new store and we're hoping the art can help make sales on the broader site to fund the revolution with liberal money lol

Is because communists seek consensus, not just majority.

Voting in liberalism (the ideology of capitalism) is like everything else you experience in capitalism; it's alienating and alienated.

We'll focus on the alienated part. The liberal vote goes like this: here's the question, you can answer yes or no, knock yourself out.

They don't care about anything else. They don't care if you're educated or not about the question, or the reasons you might have to be voting one way or the other. All they care about is the box checked on the ballot, and then whichever option gets the most votes, even if it's one single extra vote, wins.

The communist vote goes like that: here's the question, why do you want to vote yes or no?

We build consensus. Build is the keyword here: consensus is not reached by random luck or letting enough time pass, it's a conscious effort that you have to make.

We educate people about the question and their choices, we try to understand why they lean one way or the other, and then we talk with them to give them all the facts they need to make an informed decision.

It's something we naturally started doing on ProleWiki, we try to reach a consensus for most decisions (the most common ones being account requests). If someone votes no, we want to know their arguments for it, and that's why most account requests end up with a pure 9-0 result or similar; we talk and convince people to reach one decision or the other. We motivate our own decisions as well; whether you vote yes or no, you're encouraged to explain why -- votes are not yet anonymous in our case.

But there is debate happening, which is healthy and helps reach a better solution.

It's also what Cuba did for their new constitution. The way these votes happen in liberal democracies is, again, they give you the question, they give you the changes that would happen, and they ask you yes or no and that's it. The way Cuba did it was to first talk with communities and their citizens, before any vote even took place. Then they refined a proposal based on these discussions, submit drafts for auditing by the population, and then finally the vote happened.

You can see them work on my sandbox page: https://en.prolewiki.org/wiki/Comrade:CriticalResist/sandbox#Communists

The plan is we'll use the big cards for like our main authors or topics, and then the mini cards for "smaller" authors.

On mobile the difference is sizeable, you can fit 7 mini cards in what was 2 big cards.

Do you want to know what the debugging was for? They didn't align properly. Not how I wanted them. Somehow that took 2 days to figure out, but they look all neat now :D

btw if you're a communist dev you can request an account on prolewiki and help us with these projects or anything else you have ideas for, we love people with initiative, you don't necessarily have to be writing!

Or really not just devs, anyone that has ideas to help ProleWiki can help make them come true.

nerd shitUltimately I had to work with full grid displays (for both the container and for each individual mini card!)

Problem is there must have been conflicting grid displays in other CSS files because my mini cards were only showing up in every other column.

Well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do so I just... defined 8 columns. 1 to the correct size, 1 empty, alternating.

And that did the trick, the empty row gets ignored as expected.

Weird but it works.

I'm guessing you can't vote on mastodon if you don't have an account, so you can vote here too.

We need to figure out:

  • what they're going to look like
  • who to sell with (redbubble, spreadshirt, maybe even aliexpress, etc)
  • pricing, though it will probably be affordable. We plan to give them out to our editors on request, so you buying a sticker will fund them to our editors. Really by buying stickers from us you help support the website.

but they could be shipped out to you by the end of the week...

or the next, it's a bit hopeful lol
