That’s strange given the announcement was made on 11 March 2025 and will be effective as of 27 May 2025.

A 28 seater bus is, unless a very high end model which the example isn't, will be cheaper than that particular Lambo was new.

The average man has one testicle, the average woman one breast and they both only have one eye.

There might be some better way of measuring this than a mathematical average, some means of describing the most common grouping in a given cohort, but that’s for smarter men than I.

That doesn’t look very comfortable

There’s no such thing as unskilled labour!

MFs when they hear about a job they dislike

So what violence are you planning?

[–] Cypher@lemmy.world -4 points 3 days ago

Yea they should definitely walk around junkies with expensive equipment, surely no one would be put in danger.

Yea this rings true, though my father wasn’t helping matters by being an alcoholic with undiagnosed CPTSD when I was 14.

If the missile got close that means it was successfully tracking the F35 which is meant to be a stealth fighter.

Given the lack of sophisticated weapons possessed by the Houthis this calls into question the effectiveness of the F35s defences and effectiveness.

The clunky user experience in the analogy isn’t wrong but is focused on the wrong thing, having locks is already an annoying user experience.

Having to carry keys everywhere and juggle shopping when opening my door sucks. It would suck more if someone entered my house and stole my stuff so I accept the trade off.

It’s the same with MFA. We all accept a worse user experience for significantly improved security.

People died after a mechanical failure, I don’t find that terribly funny.

Thank you for the insight, I’m still unsure if this is a war crime but it likely warrants scrutiny from the relevant authorities.

I think people often chuck the declaration of war crime around a bit too quickly and without a proper understanding.

A garda (Irish police) officer has died whilst carrying out a speed checkpoint in County Dublin.

Motorbike racer Morgan McLaren-Wood, who was injured in the crash which killed two fellow riders on Monday, says "there was nothing anyone could do" to prevent the tragedy.

TL;DR: Self-Driving Teslas Rear-End Motorcyclists, Killing at Least 5

Brevity is the spirit of wit, and I am just not that witty. This is a long article, here is the gist of it:

  • The NHTSA’s self-driving crash data reveals that Tesla’s self-driving technology is, by far, the most dangerous for motorcyclists, with five fatal crashes that we know of.
  • This issue is unique to Tesla. Other self-driving manufacturers have logged zero motorcycle fatalities with the NHTSA in the same time frame.
  • The crashes are overwhelmingly Teslas rear-ending motorcyclists.

Read our full analysis as we go case-by-case and connect the heavily redacted government data to news reports and police documents.

Oh, and read our thoughts about what this means for the robotaxi launch that is slated for Austin in less than 60 days.

These spiders make extremely strong and messy looking webs and are known for their painful bite.

Unfortunately I had to kill this one as they’re dangerous for children and my son is very curious about spiders.

Time for a new banner!

Please reply to this post with a photo you think could be our next c/motorcycles banner, the highest upvoted post after 72 hours wins.

The banner size limit seems to be 3540 x 600 it would be helpful if you could crop your photo before submission but is not a requirement.

Rules are simple:

  1. You must have taken the photo or have full rights to the photo
  2. Must be motorcycling related
  3. Safe For Work images only
  4. No AI generated images
  5. No brigading or vote manipulation

Unfortunately lemmy.world/c/motorcycles has had an inactive mod for the last year, and while its a relatively low activity sub for its size, and activity is overwhelmingly civil, a mod should still be around in case a need arises.

I'm more than willing for other mods to be appointed, especially in other timezones (I'm in Australia) so long as we can agree on moderation standards.

As for why I would like to moderate this community? I've been riding motorcycles for nearly two decades on the road and track, own 5 motorcycles (Ninja 1000, ZX6R, SWM Superdual X, 2x FZR250) and some have claimed I have a small interest in motorcycling and the community.

For clarity I would update the sidebar to include the following rules:

  1. Be respectful and inclusive.
  2. No harassment, hate speech, or trolling.
  3. Engage in constructive discussions.
  4. Share relevant content.
  5. No advertising or self promotion.
