Same, I think it was 2 weeks for me, right at the end of year 8, because my dad got cheap tickets to Barbados for me and my sister (we have family there). This was back in 97. He just told the teacher I'd be off school until after the summer holidays and that was all.

Ah you beat me to it. I was taught this an my child seat training course at work, it's true.

Boring fact for the day. The real reason for the baby on board sign isn't for other drivers, it's so if there's an accident, the emergency services will prioritise the cars with the sign. So if you want priority in an accident, you know what to do.

Remember the actual sixdegrees.com?

One thing I've learnt from my 15 minute cycle commute is to assume everyone on the road is an idiot.

Drivers: happy to kill you for a second off their journey time.

Cyclists: same, as well as thinking red lights don't apply to them. They're happy to kill both themselves and their fellow cyclists and pedestrians.

Pedestrians: have a death wish. You don't need to look if you can't hear an engine.

I was on a bus once when they were still constructing the cycle superhighway in my area (a waste of time since it's just full of pedestrians), and despite the warning signs saying narrow lane, don't overtake cyclists, the driver couldn't be bothered to wait and ploughed right into the guy, he went flying. And the driver didn't even stop until a full bus stop later.

Dunno, all I was doing was trying to crop the black bars off a 1 minute video clip.

Nah, not necessarily. I'm 40 and meant to be doing prep study for the Cytech exam and I've watched a grand total of one tutorial video, but I've put in almost 100 hours on Euro Truck Sim 2.

The amount of times I've had bus drivers not able to wait 2 seconds for me to pass the bus stop, and then pull in, almost pushing me into the kerb. I really need to get a helmet cam. Black cab drivers can be bad offenders too.

The irony, right?

I bought Anti-Monopoly for my nephew, which is actually lot of fun. My nephew plays as the monopolist because of the higher rents you get, yet I always beat him as a Competitor (he wipes the floor with me in normal Monopoly though).

Joke's on you, I still use Paint Shop Pro 7.

The one and only time I tried to use kdenlive, it blackscreened my PC and when I booted back up, my Linux Mint showed in the boot menu as just Ubuntu. I went right back to Openshot.

Not his first attempt, but I want to do whatever I can to encourage him to stay on the wagon this time. I don't have any experience of this, so I'd appreciate any tips from those who have been there already.

Edit 02/10: he's still clean!

And there's still this much battery left. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I wasn't expecting it to still have any power left at all. I suppose with the sim out, all it was doing was powering the clock, but still! Unfortunately, I've had to retire it as my network won't connect on it anymore.
