Yeah that's it! He rules. I'll go, "wow a 1 hour video about a refrigerator?" and then sit there glued to the screen as that hour flies by. He's like the bill nye of appliances. All the dishwasher videos are great too.

i cannot for the life of me think of the channel name at the moment but there's this rad nerd on youtube with a video about the popcorn function on microwaves. A lot of them are just time-based but sometimes they have hygrometers and register the burst of steam emitted from a bag of microwave popcorn when it's almost finished and fancier ones sometimes even have microphones that listen for the slow down in pop-timing! But more to your point I've also always had bad luck defrosting stuff with any of the presets, i totally admit i could experiment more though and I'm sure i'd have greater success.

cold turkey

very reasonable! just make sure it stays that way until you're ready to cook it

(I agree, i think that last visit truly-permanently-for-real-this-time cemented it for me as the same)

For sure, the fridge is normally best-practice when you plan for it, otherwise a vessel of cool water with the sink on a trickle (as is commonly required by health departments). But bafflingly there is a sizeable number of people just tossing some meat on the table the night before and cooking it when they get home from work the next day.

Maybe these redditors have seen something like that and think it's the same thing

Save your generosity! Many replies i read were definitely people without any understanding of the temperature range within which foodborne bacteria thrive and were under the impression that specifically AMERICAN meat is somehow of such incredible quality that you can leave a raw chicken out until the center is thawed, at which point the outside is of course room temperature, and it's totally good, or that fda guidelines are infringing on their god given right to consume/feed their family spoiling meat. Another contingent of posters (of significant overlap) did not understand that toxins produced by bacteria are not destroyed by cooking in the same way that bacteria may be.

Checked reddit for a sec yesterday, i don't know why, and i was immediately captivated by a thread of someone earnestly asking if it was safe to thaw frozen meat by leaving it at room temp for 10 hours followed by like, conservatively, two thousand people totally united in their stance of "fucking duh moron of course you thaw meat by leaving it out forever, how else would anyone do it?" and lambasting anyone who thaws meat in the sink because it wastes five trillion gallons of water a minute because faucets are not capable of adjustable flow rates and by the way running your faucet is the principle cause of climate change. Also anyone who disagrees probably just has a WEAK gut biome, which is also obviously their own fault. A dozen instances of people telling others to kill themselves in defense of not understanding possibly the most basic food safety guideline ouside of "do not eat actual literal feces" lmao. Incredible brains we have in this country. With an evidently sizeable portion of the population consistently inflicting food poisoning on themselves out of willful and prideful ignorance it's no wonder the toilets are skibidi. This post sucks i need to never visit that site again, thanks for allowing me to disperse my psychic damage, amen.

surprisingly chill little guy, i was maybe six feet from the tree and he hid at first but then scuttled around to my side and posed for a few minutes

My fourth year searching for them and i finally found a place! Few hundred feet off the trail and there it was among the mayapple and waterleaf, i could hardly believe it. Tree ID is HARD and i don't have any tips on that front but i don't think there were any elms around because the (lack of) canopy in the area didn't show any sign of flowers/buds. Ended up with 9 ounces and i left some tiny ones behind that still seemed healthy enough to keep growing.

Shout out to the curious deer that patiently led me right to the spot.

and i wanted to torrent it, could i just get that 36 gig fitgirl repack from 2018? i guess uhh- do i need to be cognizant of versions or anything for adding mods? i don't wanna play as goku or the hulk or anything, just an updated textures/lighting mod if my pc can do it, and maybe QoL stuff, or feel free if there's anything important you think i should have for playing it the first time. i haven't done mod stuff since skyrim ten years ago blahblah

i am want to become bergamot, imbiber of lumpy green orange

Somehow i never tried earl gray until a couple weeks ago. It tastes like a new color and I'm obsessed. Stash double bergamot isn't enough, it's barely different than bigelow (but it's the best I've found). I want more. I'm a perv for berg.

I want a bergamot tea bag that treats the tea leaves as an afterthought and i haven't found it. I've tried stash, bigelow, walmart, harney and sons, private selection, twinings, and one other british sounding one that I'm forgetting atm. Stash double and bigelow are the best by far but i want like at least quadruple the bergamot flavor. Do i need to buy a vial of bergamot oil and drink it until i cry and realize the error of my ways?

Not having sufficiently bergamot-essenced earl gray is my own afghanistan.

Words, pictures, videos don't do it justice. I drove across the country for the one in 2017 and it was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. Sacrificing people on top of a pyramid isn't my preference but i kinda understand where the aztecs/mel gibson were coming from. For real though totality is like a divine searing hole opening in the sky that connects you to cosmic ancient human experience even if just for a few moments. The moon is an actual giant thing falling toward us in perpetuity and never is it more tangibly understandable as such than when it falls literally perfectly in front of the fucking sun. Streamers of plasma millions of miles long whipping out around the black disc of the moon. Undulating liquid-like shadow ripples called shadow bands appear on the actual ground, it's like standing on the beach looking down as a wave washes back out to sea but the beach is the planet on which all life lives and dies and the wave is the infinity of outer space, and you barely even hear about them because the eclipse itself is just that much more spectacular. ~~For most people in the united states, this is the last chance they'll have to see it in their lifetimes.~~ my bad actually there's another couple chances in 2044/2045, but still.
