Repairability without software locks and stupid crap like that. There’s no logical reason to disable FaceID when you replace the screen which has literally no parts of FaceID connected to it. Same goes for battery, truetone, cameras and so on ……

Volume up, down, press and hold the power button until you see the apple logo. This way you make a hardware reset which should solve that problem
