Also different tuning parameters etc..could make outputs different. That might explain why mine is seemingly a bit better at listening.

I just did a few more laps and you're exactly correct, the tire is indeed skipping (if it's not entirely off the ground) going around multiple corners due to the overall stiffness.
Makes for a tricky car to drive!
