I remember reading a study not too long ago that said being excluded for not having a phone isn't really happening in schools that have already banned phones.

I honestly cannot think of an interpretation of this other than "same sex is not wholesome".
We'll have to see how they implement it first. If it's just through Play Protect, I'm fine as I'm already not using that. If not, guess I'll have to make-do with a Linux phone.
An exploited app can do more on a system that has more capabilities, simple as that.

Well yeah, because grapheneos is specifically made for security, not customiseability. Rooting your phone makes it a lot less secure, so it doesn't seem strange to me that grapheneos doesn't want you to.
