Where this blind in your picture is fixed with the brackets vertically and inside the window frame the one I'm working on is fixed horizontally outside of the window frame and just above so the bottom of the blind reel is the same level as the top, horizontal edge of the window frame.

Unfortunately I'm not on site and can't get s picture.

Also, the curtain rail is an S hook style not pole and ring.

Up to 20kg should be fine, they are light curtains.

The frame is set in plasterboard flush to the wall.

I'm thinking of going with the expanding plugs.
