Pure 80’s pop of The Lightning Seeds https://youtu.be/lbqMD7YrGGQ

Growing up in the 80’s, I had never encountered this. Found it randomly last year and it captures that cheesy, but hopefully romantic, danceable vibe.

I needed a CliffsNotes and a notepad to keep all the names straight.

I was mistaken; I conflated Magnatone and Maestro in my head. It was revived by St Louis Music and worked with Billy Gibbons and Neil Young, so the switch does kinda make sense.

Malcolm in the Middle. Haven’t seen it in years, but I never skipped the theme song.

Between the unflinching support of the US, the world doing nothing to stop genocide across the globe, and the lack of any consequence for nuclear powers, they know they have basically carte blanche.

A man on meth and fentanyl was aggressively resisting arrest and was a danger. Tazed, beaten, forced to ground, he suffered a heart attack. How much of a factor were the drugs, were the scenario, and were the cops’ actions?

My first instinct was distrust of the cops, but it seems like there is more nuance here. Regardless, there has to be a better way in dealing with chemically-altered aggression (meth, pcp, fentanyl, etc.) other than continued use of escalating force.

Deosil (sunwise) was the opposite of widdershins (against the usual). Both had a wide range of uses too, not just directionality.
