Why is it hyperbolic?

On a per game basis Allen and Hurts are basically tied in TDs and TOs and Hurts’ is the literal favorite.

That’s all the article is pointing out.

Well yes, but also no.

A QB can play good (or at least produce a positive EPA) and their team can still lose.

So while losing more games will make a QBs sample size larger, that doesn’t automatically mean he will be lower on this chart.

Obviously these are extreme examples, but NE only has two more losses than LAC.

In the Broncos game they had 6 TD drives (42 points) that averaged 55 seconds of game clock.

Josh Allen in Week 11:

5th best ANY/A

3rd best EPA/play

16th best QBR

Isn’t this kind of just Success Rate with less information?

[–] IWasRightOnce@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wait, what?

Isn’t QBR specifically designed to devalue certain plays (like Allen’s end of half INT)?

How did he end up with such a bad QBR?

Why does that tell you “smart money” is on Mahomes?

All this tells us is that everyone has long accepted he is the best QB in the league, so even when his stats don’t justify being the MVP favorite a lot of people will still bet on him, so Vegas isn’t going to drop his odds.

If anything this sounds like dumb money is on him.

Inbe4 they hire Leslie Frazier

I think the bigger question is, even if the Jets are still in playoff contention in mid-December, would the team even want to clear him to return?

Like, if their in a spot where they need to win their last 3 games to make the playoffs, is the risk of putting him out there actually even worth it?

What’s really crazy is that Jaren Hall is older than Tremaine Edmunds.

Edmunds was drafted in 2018, 3 years before Zach Wilson.
