@otter @openstreetmap

So they haven't announced a change or anything?

You have (supposedly) been able to create your own public transport files for ages.

@pietervdvn When I wrote that I'd got stuck trying to add questions _into_ the title. Which obviously went very badly.

I ended up looking at another example to see where the various bits of information were meant to go and then got the hang of it a bit more.

I also ran into some things where I thought I was completely misunderstanding another thing and it turned out to be a weird bug. I've typed up the one I could reproduce, but I also had e.g. 'TypeError: s[h[1]] is undefined"

@pietervdvn

I managed it, had to look at some examples to see how things were meant to work. I'll see if I can cobble together the layers I have done into a theme.

@pietervdvn yeah I was just trying to create one for the equivalent waterways tags, but I'm finding the studio really confusing.

OK, so it looks like the nautical view only shows the seamark tagging for that feature and the land based tagging only shows if you search for it. The waterway tagging appears not to be in use. I might put a request on the issue tracker for this.

Images attached but will probably only show in Mastodon.

@abeorch@fosstodon.org @abeorch@lemmy.ml @openstreetmap to an extent. E.g. the seamark variant of that feature is meant to render in that view.

Annoying the closest one I can find tagged as for land doesn't seem to be showing up on my phone. This is a bit confusing as it's listed in taginfo as being used for creating maps.

@abeorch @openstreetmap
I don't know if it's any good but in theory I think OsmAnd can route over canals in its 'Nautical' theme.

It supposedly shows amenity=sanitary\_dump\_station so if a pump out has that tag it could be handy for some users. but at the moment all it's doing for me is crash.

@psycotica0 @uneabeille @openstreetmap

I think the key feature of the picture on the wiki is that they have visible lift points near the corners.

In some of the pictures they have been filled, but in others they haven't.

@psycotica0 @openstreetmap
I suppose there could be something tricky going on, but that just looks like normal concrete with 'joints' that have been cut or cast into it after it has been poured in situ. I think the concrete plate tag is for pre-cast bits that are made somewhere else and then brought in and dropped in place.

@smb @openstreetmap

Apparently they're using a more detailed index for the app that isn't supported in the web.

(And yeah, I did call that an F-Droid Anti-Feature when I found out that you have to have to install something for this to be displayed in an intuitive way.)

@infeeeee @variants @openstreetmap

IIRC OrganicMaps adds an affiliate link to hotel listings that lets you search for them on Kayak. From what I remember it doesn't add any additional hotels to the map and in a quick spot check doesn't appear to hide any website links stored in OSM.
