Seeing these M3 deals and it makes me wanna upgrade, but then I remember "oh wait, the M1 Pro is still an upgrade, I've never needed more than my M1 MBA, I just need the bigger nicer screen and M1 Pros are cheaper than ever." They really just are good enough for almost anyone...if they drop OLED screens I can see upgrading again for that, but in terms of power M1 still feels like enough. I play WoW/LoL, I don't build classical symphonies in Logic, I don't edit Transformers 8 in FCPX...M1 still a beefy machine for the rest of us.

and dont care about heat or fan noise

This is one of the big selling points for many people. I used to have an Alienware that was plenty powerful but made a ton of noise and pumped heat onto my legs like standing in front of a bonfire, that's just not fun to use as a mobile product imo.

Excited to watch this, was considering this along with a refurb 14" or even 16" but wouldn't mind the battery life if this is capable without getting too hot. The 1 fan and size still worries me, especially if I started adding things like streaming or what not. (tho streaming is still a pain on Apple anyways)

Edit: Oh wow, ok after watching the M3 not so great to play games on outside of maybe LoL/Wow and still on lower settings. May have to refurb an M1 Pro after all.

Well, I do have to buy AirPods and possibly a Magic Keyboard, so at least that'll make the MBP purchase soon after that a little cheaper.

Was the hard work promo shot on the iPhone as well? That bokeh looked far too good and smooth to me it doesn't seem like it's possible, but if that was also shot on the phone then I'm upgrading cuz that looked even more impressive.

Wish Apple would just release a camera in the iPhones body at this point. If they just sold a super thin camera but that had some bigger protruding lens for better bokeh/night stuff I'd snag it in a second. Having something like a $2k camera with one/two lens and tons of zoom options that slides in my pocket? Sign me up, you'd probably see so much stuff being shot on iPhones at that point, would be great marketing. The LOG is amazing and very welcome, but still not perfect for every shot yet.
