This reminds me of Star Trek Voyager's Chakotay(?) and total fraud that "helped" with the native background.

Right now I'm struggling with buying Divinity Original Sin at 8€, at an 80% discount from 40€, because I think it's expensive.
Edit: Interestingly, had it been 80% of 30€, which is 6€, I would've bought it without hesitation.

When you start to question how things work and why things work that way, you begin to lose connection to what is considered the "normal train of thought".
Think of it this way, if the government is lying to you, then every governmental institution is also lying to you. Everything you learned in school is a lie by the government, every law made is a lie by the government, every notion you know is a lie made by the government looking to control you.
So the law is not a law you need to respect, the knowledge you were taught is not something to follow, and the people in charge are not in charge of you.

Constantine adopted Christianity because the people adopted Christianity and if he didn't follow suit, bad shit would've happened, mostly to him.
And the capital was moved to Constantinople to account for the growing asian influence that was beginning to threaten the empire. The west fucking up after that would have happened regardless of the capital being there.
The Abbasids fucked up the same way and no one gives them shit about it.
