I think you're right. I saw the photo and first thought flowers painted on then I was like nope, that's a dumb thought it's probably for cropping.
International infrastructure, especially something as crucial as a global network, shouldn't be controlled by a single corporation. It's in the best interest of all nations that such infrastructure be planned, owned, and maintained through collective international agreements, ensuring fair access, security, and accountability for everyone involved.
