I don’t get why they weren’t monitoring the cheetahs before one died. Seems negligent AF to import an animal and then watch it die. They literally let one die before deciding to do anything. These cheetahs aren’t pure, wild animals if they are imported. WTF India, maybe treat people and animals with more respect. Instead they’re response is, “Oopsies, I guess it was too hot while we watched them die. ” Morons.

No. It’s just already been posted a bunch of other times.

And don’t use gmail, google calendar, sheets, docs, etc. In the context of Google, it doesn’t have to be publicly available online for Google to use it. Someone could keep their journal in sheets with no intent of it being public and Google is using the info.

Regarding #5. Twitter was a bit of a disaster regarding asset recovery before a bunch of people got fired. They often failed to make sure assets were sent back in a timely fashion. When musk fired everyone, I’m sure that problem got really bad and that Twitter failed to send instructions or materials for asset collection. People lost access to their corporate accounts and computers, but I’m guessing Twitter didn’t bother to collect all the assets so some ex employees probably still do have laptops or monitors because they literally don’t know what to do with them. I have no idea how big of a problem that might be.

What’s even worse is GM hired a VP who failed at Apple.

It is generally a good practice to be specific when describing vulnerabilities. Further, people tend to just read headlines and we know this. You don’t need to be a snarky jerk when someone points that out. Heaven forbid people learn something, sheesh.

You mean leopards?

You’re correct. I asked this previously and got the answer that it is showing the number of subscribers from this instance.

I just don’t agree with this in principle. It supports the idea that every individual is special, but we’re not. Sure it’s nice to know about our ancestors, but everyone writing publicly just introduces so much nonsense and noise into a public conversation when it isn’t necessary. The public doesn’t need to know what Sally had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. History doesn’t give a fuck. I also don’t care what my great grandfather ate for lunch, but I do care about accomplishments that might be summarized thoughtfully.

If every fleeting thought gets written down, there’s no indication of what is important. Yes that means some useless moments in history are lost, but not all moments are meant to become history. Social media gives people a very false sense of importance and it is actively hurting our society. Let’s not make it worse with this BS.

And I’m sure the owners tell their family and friends about how lazy the workforce is. Probably spend hours talking about how Americans don’t know how to work hard any longer.

Really boils down to profit and not revenue. Retail margins are very, very thin.

HW supply chains have been an absolute mess since Covid. It’s very, very possible that it’s a true supply chain constraint. Companies have been doing all sorts of crazy stuff to maintain or get access to HW components. This includes things like paying 3x to “steal” a shipment from another customer.

People who are not in HW have no concept of how long and unreliable lead times have gotten.

Hello! I’m newer to Lemmy and trying to figure out all the communities. I found a page where I can browse communities (https://browse.feddit.de/), but the subscriber numbers on that site are totally different than what I see when I search for the community in Wefwef.

For example, this community shows a subscriber count of over 17k on the site above, but when I search in Wefwef, I see a much smaller subscriber count. Why is it different? Is Wefwef only counting subscribers on my instance?

Thanks for any information?
